Hilton rolls out its low cost ‘day rooms’ to more properties

Hilton has quietly rolled out its ‘rooms for day use’ offering.  This allows you to book a hotel room between 10am and 6pm – the idea is to compete with the likes of Regus who rent private offices by the day.

Having used many Regus day offices over the years, I can confirm that you would often get more space – as well as more facilities – by using a Hilton hotel room instead.

These rooms are very easy to book online.

Simply visit hilton.com and set you check-in and check-out date to be the same.

These rooms are not bargains but are usually in line with Regus pricing.  For September 21st I found, and this is only a selection:

Hilton London Euston £132

Hilton London Tower Bridge £199

Hilton London Paddington £138

Hilton London Olympia £97

Hilton London Wembley £80

Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 4 £108 – handy for long layovers, pictured above

I know a couple of people who have booked one of these rates.  Both reported that they earned Hilton HHonors points and received stay credit.  I don’t know if this is Hilton policy or if it was just specific hotels which decided to do this, but it would be an extra boost if you got points.

If you looking for hotel day rooms, there are other specialist sites available.  I used between9and5.com earlier in the year and paid £59 for the Mercure hotel in Kensington – that amusing story is here.

Not true. I’ve had 3 day stays at Hilton’s and they’ve been more than happy to accommodate me. Granted 1 of the stays I had to wait a while for my room to be ready but they granted me a late check out. The other 2 stays were great. I was upgraded to a King Executive on one with access to the executive lounge. This was in the Hilton Manchester Deansgate. And the other stay I was upgraded to a Hhonors floor with a great view and free minibar with soft drinks and crisps. This was in the Doubletree by Hilton in Manchester.

Just make sure you don’t check in early online as there isn’t an option for day use yet.

“Not true?” I am only passing what hotels told me.

Rezidor / Starwood / Radisson don’t do day use bookings online. Be correct.

Hilton, defining low cost, are they in partnership with Jet2 and Ryanair?

  • Oh! Matron! says:

The earliest I’ve managed to check in ranges between 8am, a few 9ams and plenty of 10ams.

Does this count as a stay, for the purposes of Honours status?
