British Airways Club World to New York for £900 ex-Switzerland, and other deals

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

British Airways has launched a number of very cheap business class deals out of Switzerland.  These are well worth a look if you are planning any long-haul travel over the next six to nine months.

Full details can be found on the Swiss version (in English) of ba.com here.

It is important to note that these are published fares!  They are not fare errors and there is a 0% chance of BA cancelling your ticket on you.  If the Swiss Franc wasn’t so strong against Sterling at the moment these fares would be astounding – as it is, they are still very good.

British Airways BA A380 flying

These are the destinations listed on ba.com as under £1,500 return, assuming an exchange rate of £1 = CHF 1.5.  Other cities may well be available at these prices:

New York – CHF 1,350 (£900)

Boston – CHF 1,448 (£965)

Washington – CHF 1,539 (£1,026)

Miami – CHF 1,639 (£1,092)

Chengdu – CHF 2,267 (£1,511)

Accra – CHF 1,461 (£974)

Rio – CHF 1,978 (£1,318)

Buenos Aires – CHF 2,190 (£1,460)

Sao Paulo – CHF 1,914 (£1,276)

Port of Spain – CHF 1,947 (£1,298)

Delhi – CHF 2,085 (£1,390)

These fares seem to be available for travel until June 2016.  It is not clear how long you have to book.  Tickets are non-refundable once booked.

  • Andy Green says:

Are these return prices? I can’t seem to get these prices and have tried varying dates in March and April 2016

  • Andy Green says:

Also Raff the link you have posted above directs me to the webpage but when I click on the destination, New York for example it then says “no search available” hopefully this is just a temporary glitch. It would be nice to book in a cheeky few days away over Easter next year

  • Adam Mosey says:

Although the front BA screen States as above, when you go into choose the flights (Miami or New York are the only ones I’ve tried) the each way price goes back up to 1400 SWISS Franc each way making the flight closer to £2300. I’ve tried various months and dates including the flight matrix and found the same. Maybe BA haven’t actually applied these prices yet?

    • Andy Green says:

I’ve done the same using the BA app and I can’t obtain these prices quoted by Raff either, cheapest is as per Adam?

  • Adam Mosey says:

I don’t think Raff is wrong, as the BA front page clearly states the prices quoted above. I have a feeling that BA simply haven’t applied the fares yet correctly. Maybe its only just come up….

  • alan says:

yep same here – looking for flight to Miami in April/May nowhere near – pricing at CHF 9000 for two people.

  • James says:

I was able to price these fares yesterday but not today, somewhat ominous for this deal.

Copenhagen seems to be the go to place for £850 deals to New York currently…several carriers battling it out there.

    • Jason says:

I think this was a flash sale for one day (yesterday) as I could price then and am sure I saw in ITA Matrix it needed to be ticketed by 11 Sep.

  • Robbie says:

What has ‘NOT a mistake fare!’ got to do with anything? They can still cancel any bookings (assuming you can even make them at the stated price) if they want.

    • stealthmoose says:

Quite. Thanks but no thanks BA. I’ll give this one a miss. Who knows whether it’s genuine or not.

    • Rob says:

Of course they can – but they won’t, because airlines don’t go around cancelling sale fares.

      • Robbie says:

Your faith is BA is incredible, particularly given the whole ex-Germany affair recently. Point being it’s a trust issue. In any case, I’d say it’s prudent to not make any non-refundable arrangements if you manage to get the stated price in the first place, that is.

Full disclosure: I didn’t book one and try not to fly BA if I can help it.

      • Brendan says:

There were definitely some of the recently cancelled flights a) listed as sale fares and b) appeared on the BA front page

  • Becky says:

Geneva – New York shows at 1340CHF

It changed the departure to BSL for me and when set to Geneva cheaper fares are shown if anybody is interested.

    • Alan says:

What dates did you book. Still can’t get anything below 5000 in either April or May

      • Becky says:

I haven’t actually booked anything Alan however April is 1352 departing 1-11 April for 7 days. May however is double the money 🙁

        • Robbie says:

Go through to the booking page and you’ll see the 1,352 fares aren’t yet available. Comes to more like CHF 2,525.
