Hilton launches a ‘flash sale’ for weekend stays until January

Hilton has launched a seven day ‘flash sale’ which runs until midnight on Sunday.

It is offering special deals at 300 hotels across Europe (including the UK), Middle East and Africa, but only at weekends.  Many rooms are discounted by 33%.

The rates are valid for weekend stays until January 31st.  You will find that some hotels have also loaded these rates for weekday stays.

As usual with Hilton sales, you need to take the ‘33% discount’ with a pinch of salt.  This is based on the discount from ‘Best Available Rate’ for the same day.  However, these sale rates require pre-payment and are non-refundable.  A ‘Best Available Rate’ room is cancellable without charge.

There are some deals out there.  I picked a couple at random:

Waldorf-Astoria Rome Cavalieri, 6-8 November, Rome View room (photo above)

€343 Flash Sale vs €379 Advanced Purchase vs €429 Best Available – you save €36 per night via this sale

The Trafalgar, London, 6-8 November

£173 Flash Sale vs £259 Best Available (no Advanced Purchase option shown)

Waldorf-Astoria Dubai, 6-8 November

Dh 1,875 Flash Sale vs Dh 2,125 Advanced Purchase vs Dh 2,500 Best Available – you save Dh 250 per night via this sale

If you have any weekends away planned between now and the end of January, you should take a look at these offers to see if there is anything of interest.  The ‘flash sale’ website is here.

Although the sale states weekends and only until the end of January, I have found numerous non-weekend and dates beyond 31st January when looking. So, worth trying other dates as well.

    • Raffles says:

Good point, forgot to mention that. Some hotels do load these rates for midweek bookings,

      • tony says:

I even saw the Trafalgar in London showing £173 for some weeknights!

  • Frankdjs says:

Some of us might have also gotten the £50 off when spending £250 with Hilton on their Amex, I assume this applies and makes it a bigger savings….

  • Brian says:

The Accor sale that is on until 16 October is of course much better than the Hilton one, unless one is particularly attached to Hilton for some reason. I find Accor group hotels to be much more reasonably priced than Hilton, often much better located, the sale is 40% off – and they have thrown in free breakfast, too!

So anybody thinking of booking in the Hilton sale should see what they can get with Accor, too.

    • Reney says:

I booked non flexible after the last Accor promotion now the hotel I booked is a lot cheaper. *cry*. I checked online somewhere that they only had two 40% off a year so I didn’t think it would come in time. Perhaps and article on why you should consider booking fully flexible even if it costs more! I guess I would have kicked myself if I booked fully flex and they ran out of rooms and I could have paid Advance rate. no winning. Unless anyone has a magic solution on how I can claim the difference?

  • JQ says:

Hilton Nuremberg for EUR66, the Hampton costs more!

    • Rob says:

Heading off to Playmobil Land?! (or whatever it’s called)

      • JQ says:

Maybe when we have kids! Wife wants to go to Rothenburg odT for Christmas

        • ankomonkey says:

I can recommend both Nuremberg and Rothenburg odT Christmas markets. Think we stayed in an Accor hotel in Nuremberg, though, and independent in RodT.

    • YL says:

Hilton Nuremberg is often cheaper than Hampton during sale, I think this is becuase Hampton’s is next to the main station, so location wise it is slighly better.
