Miles & More, the loyalty scheme for Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian amongst other airlines, is currently offering an excellent deal on redemptions to New York and Washington DC.

The deal is only available when you fly Austrian airlines from Vienna.  It does not seem to be bookable if you try to include a connection from the UK, so you would need to purchase that separately.

Austrian has an impressive business class seat as you can see here, with solo window seats:

Austrian business class

The pricing for New York is:

Business Class (return) – 55,000 miles plus £344 tax

Economy Class (return) – 30,000 miles plus £270 tax

This is substantially better value than 100,000 to 120,000 Avios plus £500 tax for BA Club World!

These prices will come up automatically on the Miles & More website if you search.  There does not appear to be any website explaining the deal.  You appear to need to travel before the end of December.

Miles & More is not an American Express Membership Rewards partner so this offer is unlikely to benefit you unless you already have the miles in your M&M account.

Out of interest, can you book one way?

  • Concerto says:

No, only full priced awards can be booked one way. Remember, this deal cannot be changed or refunded as is the case with all Miles & More mileage bargains.

  • Brian says:

These mileage bargains come along on a fairly regular basis, so it’s worth checking M&M if this option works for you.
