Did you win 100,000 Avios in our Kaligo.com competition (I haven’t told the winner yet!)?

Thank you to everyone who entered our competition last week, sponsored by hotel booking site Kaligo.com, to win 100,000 Avios points.  There was a fantastic response.

I picked a winner yesterday and the name has been verified with Kaligo.com.  I haven’t told this person yet, though – they will receive an email from me later today!

The winner is …..

(drum roll)

Kaligo

Ronald B, who used a Gmail email address

Well done Ronald!  I will be in touch today for your British Airways Executive Club account details.

Commiserations to everyone else.  There are a couple of smaller fun competitions lined up before Christmas and I am currently trying to put together another ‘biggie’ for January!

Remember that you still have 5 days to book a hotel with Kaligo.com and qualify for 5,000 Avios points when you spend £300 in one transaction or 10,000 Avios if you spend £500.   You book for any date in the next year but the booking itself needs to be made by November 30th.  You can register for the promotion here and the Avios will show during the booking process.

Bits: InterContinental at the O2, Marriott Rewards at Protea Hotels, Madonna with Hilton
Bits: redeem 1 Emirates mile for football tickets!, new hotels coming to Terminal 4

  9. quick spend it before another devaluation occurs :-)

  10. Did you read about the Chinese bloke who bought a painting for £100m or so on his Amex for the points? First class flights for life for him and his family. Think the same chap who bought the big diamonds recently.

    • didnt understand this story. If you are spending that much money on diamonds for a 9 year old then why would you not own a private jet?

Also – surely the transaction fees for using Amex would negate any benefit. What I took from this story was a Noob thinking he is being clever….

      • I read something that suggested it was because of Chinese capital controls – it’s easier to pay $100m to your Chinese bank and put the diamond on your charge card than move $100m out of the country to pay for it other ways. So the miles are just a happy side benefit. Don’t know if that’s true though – seems a rather easy way around the restrictions…

  11. Congratulations Ronald!
I received 9200 Avios from Kaligo today for my recent 2 night stay/first booking – that is my consolation prize!

    • O/T BA doing Club World East Coast USA Ex UK for £1400. Part pay with 30,000 Avios for £700 Discount .. Looks like dates into Jan 10
