Double points (2 per £1) when you spend £399 – £699

New Priority Pass lounge options in Paris

Finally, Priority Pass – the independent lounge access card – has launched two new options at Paris CDG.

In Terminal 1, you can now use the Star Alliance lounge which includes an outdoor terrace and showers.  In Terminal 2D, you can access the Sheltair Lounge.

This adds to the existing options of the Air Canada lounge in 2A and the Icare lounge in 1.  If you are flying with BA, I think (and I could be wrong) that the Air Canada lounge is the only one you can access given the layout of Terminal 2.

Apologies for going OT with the first comment of the morning….4000 cc points appeared this morning on my tesco account-I can only think the Pet Insurance points have come through!

    • Johnnycl says:

Great, got them too…..description says “TESCO BANK – Tesco Bank Pet Insurance”.

    • Mydogiscalledgeoff says:

      Boom!

      • Moray says:

On a similar OT note my 20,000 Avios for the Times subscription posted this morning after they sent an email last week asking for an account number (they would also have taken a BAEC or Iberia account by the looks of the email).

  • M.M. says:

BA use the AA and CX lounge at CDG in Terminal 2A. The CX lounge was the one you and I used in December.

The T1 option may be interesting for those flying QR from CDG, as the Galaxy Lounge (formally La Premiere) is poor; fortunately, QR are building their own lounge at T1.

  • Alice says:

Still nothing in terminal 2E or 3 at CDG though, which are the terminals I mostly use there. I’ve been flying from Paris quite frequently in recent months; it’s not my favourite airport, but it has cheap flights.

  • TomTom says:

Also the Air Canada lounge in 2A is only open until around 1PM to cater for Air Canada departures.

  • Ian says:

Outdoor showers in Paris? could be interesting 😉

  • bsuije says:

Just spent the weekend in Paris and flew back from CDG. Used the CX lounge which wasn’t too far from our departure gate for BA (about 5 mins – can’t remember which part of Terminal 2, though) and was very glad we turned up to the airport early! The lounge was lovely and spacious, with a great selection of food (european dishes, as well as a noodle bar for noodle soups made to order).

  • BlueHorizonUK says:

OT but does anyone know which credit card you can balance transfer FROM a BA Amex?

    Thanks

    • Scottnothing says:

Didn’t know there were restrictions on transferring balances from Amex to be honest. I have transferred balances from my BAPP Amex onto HSBC (Premier) Mastercard, Barclays (Hilton) Mastercard and Halifax Mastercard in the past.

      • BlueHorizonUK says:

Thanks. There are some that don’t like MBNA who don’t seem to recognise the 15 digits.

  • Wally1976 says:

OT – has anyone cancelled their pet insurance poicy yet?

Don’t fancy the phonecall to be honest – what’s the worst that could happen if I just cancelled the direct debit?

    • Genghis says:

Best to contact them IMO. Just say that you have found better pet insurance elsewhere.

      • Yuff says:

Or say what my daughter wants, and that’s to get rid of our 3 cats so she can have a dog 🙂

    • harry says:

I normally just cancel the direct debit & ignore the letters that will follow. However, in this case I don’t like the way they structured the cost as a loan, so I would phone to cancel. Not paying back a loan can adversely affect your credit record if they decide to play nasty. Luckily that looks unlikely as they said policyholders can cancel at any time.

    • Johnnycl says:

Just post a letter if you don’t want to have a conversation. Doesn’t need to be any more than “please cancel my policy #1234”.
