News in brief:
Avios launches new partnership with LOVEtheatre
Avios has a new collection partner – theatre ticketing group LOVEtheatre.
In an industry full of dubious characters, LOVEtheatre stands out as a well established player at 25 years old.
You will earn 3 Avios points for every £1 you spend.
In what appears to be the new Avios standard (see also the new Direct Ferries partnership), LOVEtheatre will allow you to earn Avios in either avios.com, British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus or Meridiana Club. I expect Aer Club to be added in April once the Aer Lingus scheme is rebranded.
There is an option to store your Avios number in your LOVEtheatre account so that it is added automatically to bookings. One-off customers can add their number during the payment process.
British Airways launches in-flight hypnotherapy
Meanwhile, in the ‘couldn’t make it up’ corner for today ….
“In-flight hypnotherapy will soon be available to help travellers on British Airways flights to start their journey to improved health and wellbeing from the comfort of their seats.
Customers on long-haul flights, including the airline’s business class-only service to New York from London City, can take time out to sit back and relax while listening to a series of five, 30 minute wellbeing programmes recorded by UK hypnotherapist Mark Bowden.
The programmes on the airline’s in-flight entertainment system cover how to lose weight, stop smoking, give up alcohol, eat more fruit and vegetables and how to develop a more positive mental attitude.
Troy Warfield, director of customer experience, said: “The wellbeing of our customers is very important and we’re thrilled to be able to offer the UK’s first hypnotherapy sessions in the air.
“This latest initiative emphasises our commitment to providing our customers with airline firsts and a huge breadth of content on our High Life in-flight entertainment channel.”
Mark Bowden added: “It’s very exciting for an airline like British Airways to offer the benefits of hypnotherapy to their customers. Using my programmes they’ll be able to tune in and switch off in a way that enables them to both relax and focus at the same time.
“It’s a very effective way of changing human behaviour for the better so they can start making those life changes they’d like to make to improve their wellbeing. And listening to the audio regularly is like training a muscle – the more you do it, the more impact it has.”
