  The annoying thing is not for all flights booked prior to 6th April count – they have to be booked in the promotional period, so flights being flown but not booked in the right time won’t count. I’ve registered anyway on the off chance it doesn’t realise I booked a few months back!

    Agreed (and I’ve done exactly the same) – sadly this is par for the course for BA promotions, they’re almost always only valid on bookings made after registering. Here’s hoping their dodgy IT works in our favour for once!

  The unformation on BA.com is misleading. On the homepage it clearly states 13 March 17 but when you actually follow the link it does say travel completed by 30 July 16.

  Also, when looking at the T&Cs it refers to double points for both cabin and BAEC status.

  8) Eligible Participants who book their journey on a Qualifying Flight within the Promotional Period AND complete travel within the Travel Period, will qualify for a double avios bonus based on cabin of travel and Executive Club Tier status. This is in addition to the Avios Points that would ordinarily be applicable to flights on the same route and class. This does not include any change to the number of Tier Points awarded.

  Too bad, we are flying there with VS in UC. This offer would not tempt me to switch (except possibly to the LCY flights). VS offer private check-in and security, fantastic lounges, a better business cabin. That is what concerns them I guess.

  Well, I thought I was going to be the first to pop up and whinge about my wife’s planned MAN-LHR-JFK appearing to be excluded from this?! Victimisation of the regions etc…

  However LHR to JFK is excluded anyway! 😀 ah well

    You’re not being victimized. The JFK/EWR legs would still count:

    7) For the avoidance of doubt, where an outbound or return itinerary includes a domestic connecting sector, then the domestic connecting sector would not be considered as a Qualifying Flight

  Already have two trips to NY booked within the travel period – have registered for this, but does anyone know if I’m likely to get the double points on trips already booked?

    Surely the point of this sort of promotion is to get extra sales, not to give a reduction to people who have already bought?

      There are plenty of examples of companies awarding promotional points for already booked travel – Hilton immediately comes to mind
