Many British Airways American Express cardholders were invited to receive a status match to the ‘Rewards by Harvey Nichols’ (of all things) reward scheme last year.

BA Blue got HN Silver, BA Bronze got HN Gold, BA Silver got HN Platinum and BA Gold got HN Black.

Since the last week of February, Harvey Nichols has also been offering Avios points when you spend with them, either in-store or online.  For some reason I hadn’t heard a peep about this offer until yesterday.  You can retroclaim your points for any recent purchases however.

This is how the deal works:

You receive 5 Avios for every £1 spent at Harvey Nichols (both online and in one of their UK stores) between 24th February 2016 and 30th April 2016

You will also be entitled to 2,000 bonus Avios when you spend £1,000 or more during this period. This is a one off bonus.

You can ONLY claim Avios if you used your ‘Rewards by Harvey Nichols’ app during the original purchases.

To claim your Avios, you need to visit a UK Harvey Nichols Store (Dublin excluded) and go to the Store Concierge (Knightsbridge only) or Style Concierge (all Stores). Alternatively you may call their Customer Services team on +44 (0)20 7201 8088.

The following information will need to be provided:

All receipts for transactions that took place during the term of promotion;

The Rewards by Harvey Nichols App and its associated email address;

BA Executive Club member details, including membership type, membership number and the members surname.

Avios will be credited within 30 days.

As an aside, tomorrow (7th April) is the re-opening date for the menswear department at the Knightsbridge store.  If you have any spending planned, you might want to check it out and see if you can pick up some Avios at the same time.

Full details can be found on the Harvey Nichols website here.

    Do you not mean BAEC members, Raffles?

    • Rob says:

      I write that originally but in the back of my mind I thought it was linked to the card …. could have been mistaken.

  • James says:

    I don’t recall anything about HN matching last year? Is this still an offer BA Amex card holders can get?

    • Rob says:

      It came in an email – you downloaded the app using the email BA used for you and it was automatic.

  • Boi says:

    What do they need in the receipt? I can’t find my receipt but satisfy all other criteria….and do you need the HN to be linked to avios account beforehand or how does this work?

  • Scarlett says:

    I have actually claimed it – London Knightsbrige – having the HN app and a BA membership number is all you need (and the receipts of course). I am HN gold but BA blue, so the status match between BA and HN doesn’t matter much to me.

    There is a time period that your spend could be qualified for claiming Avios: from end of February up to 30 April. Unfortunately you’ll need to have the receipts AND the HN mobile app (which has your HN rewards membership number) in order to claim the avios. For London Knightsbridge, go to 1st floor for the store concierge and show them all the information (HN app which has the rewards membership number your email address, BA membership number, and all qualified receipts), sit and let the nice staff do all the work and then voila.

    It adds some value if you have BA AMEX card. Not long ago they had an offer with HN: spending £100 gets £20 statement credits, so you have avios on the >£100 purchase, get the subsequent credits, then with the receipts (original gross amount regardless of credits) you get the BA and HN promotional avios on top. If your spend is between March up to 6 April, you can even get into a prize draw provided by HN for £1000 voucher to spend in-store with every qualifying spend (if you are lucky)!

    Have to say that was probably the best value of money I’ve spent recently.
