UPDATE – APRIL 2024:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Click here for our article on IHG’s ‘2000 Bonus Points’ promotion which runs from 1st April to 31st May 2024. You can register for the offer by clicking here.

Keep up to date with new hotel offers by signing up for our free daily or weekly newsletters.

If you think you might find yourself in the Middle East, Asia or Africa at some point in 2016, I recommend registering for this IHG Rewards Club promotion.

Until the end of 2016, you will earn double points on all food and drink, laundry and telephone spend charged to your room bill.

Full details, and the registration link, can be found here.

The offer applies at InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Indigo and Holiday Inn hotels only.  It covers hotels in the Middle East, Asia and Africa with the annoying exclusion of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned immediately, I would still register.  31st December is a long way away and plans can change but your chances of remembering about this offer in, say, November are slim.

Surprised at the lack of a global quarter 2 promotion from IHG and now looking to book some summer hotel stays. Have most booked via points but would look to convert to cash if the price and incentives were right. Bonuses on incidental expenses really don’t cut it

    • John says:

Sorry, it’s my fault: after not paying cash for IHG hotels since 2013, I’ve finally exhausted hundreds of thousands of points and am now looking to pay for 10-15 nights in the next few months – so of course IHG decides not to run a UK Q2 promo.

  • Andrew says:

Would I earn this bonus on F&B when staying on a points rate? T&Cs talk about a “qualifying stay”.

  • Jon says:

Off-topic but still IHG – has anyone who signed up for IC Ambassador received their membership pack yet? I joined in December, emailed them in February (was told they were having production difficulties) and now in May, still nothing… They did advise I could use my Award Night by calling their service centre who would liaise with my chosen hotel to ask whether they would honour it without the actual certificate – a lot of hassle, and they were unable to guarantee this would be accepted. Starting to think I should just cancel and ask for my £200 back. Haven’t been massively impressed with the Ambassador benefits so far, let alone this fiasco.

      Not had mine from October!

      • Kinkell says:

Joined in April , got pack and voucher about 10 days ago. Well within the 8 week waiting period. Booked up to redeem for IC NY TS in Sept. Amb aspect went OK. Generally hacked off with the 2016 Accelerate promotion. I have only ever booked using the app on iPad,yet IHG deny that I have done so, thus losing out on 43k points. Anyone else disenchanted?

    • Pid says:

Joined in Feb but still not recieved it. Emailed them several times as wanted to use my certificate and they gave me 20k points for my inconvience. They also said they would contact the IC I wanted to book to see if they would accept a stay without the certificate but would then post it direct to them. The hotel agreed and I had a successful stay. Was emailed a week ago to say the certificate had still not arrived so the service centre would pay for the night using points. I suspect the hotel complained as the certificate was not sent to them. The benefit is that they paid they required 55k points and have confirmed that my certificate can still be used, if I ever receive it. I also asked them to credit my account with the 5k which should come with the pack and they duly did. So come off quite well, just have to decide if I want to go through the hassle of trying to book another night without the certificate.

  • Lady London says:

There’s a 30% off offer showing on the IHG offers page for members for hotels in Asia booked May for stays June through September. Annoyingly excludes China and a couple of others. If points work as previously, people could qualify for both if signed up for both.

Does anyone know when the Accelerate bonus points from last Accelerate should show up? My basic points have accrued but no bonuses.

    • Rob says:

Got my bonus yesterday having done last task on 28th April.

  • Alan says:

More likely it’s been flagged as a spam comment as you’ve posted the identical text multiple times over the past few days?!

  • Simon says:

Was just at the Intercontinental in Hong Kong so double points would have been useful although I didn’t spend much on food and drink there. I did pay for a harbour view upgrade, was surprised when I checked out to get a 10% service charge for the room upgrade, can’t remember getting a service charge even in America for a room upgrade before.
