News in brief:

2,400 Avios with £60 LEGO spend

Tesco Direct is running a ‘short but sweet’ offer on LEGO.

Until Wednesday night, you will receive 1,000 Clubcard points (worth 2,400 Avios or 2,500 Virgin Flying Club) when you spend £60 on the plastic stuff.

The home page for the deal on Tesco Direct is here.

Special Etihad economy deal to Hong Kong

Etihad is running a special promotional code on Hong Kong flights at the moment.  Using code JUNE30 you can fly from Heathrow to Hong Kong for just £344.  This is exceptional value for such a long trip and is £25 cheaper than the current Cathay Pacific sale prices – albeit that flight is direct and earns Avios.

I’m not sure of the exact travel dates but I was able to find dates in June at this price.

Iberia A330 350

15% off Iberia flights from the UK – today only

Iberia has been running a special discount for its newsletter subscribers this week which I forgot to mention over the weekend.

It is still valid today, however, and you can fly until the end of the year (July and August excluded).

The code ‘INTERNET’ used on iberia.com will get you 15% off economy or business class flights departing from the UK.

It is valid only on Iberia and Air Nostrum.  No stopover are allowed.

The thing I am most concerned about is getting to the airport on time if we break down en route/ same thing in reverse on way back home. Once I landed @ Gatwick at about 9pm, destination Cornwall – and within 20 mins the electrics had gone – needed a new alternator so obviously not a roadside repair. 3 kids in the back. That was fun, not. Luckily all covered.

A god travel insurance policy will cover you for a missed departure due to vehicle breakdown, bus, coach & train delays. When buying a policy makes sure it includes ‘missed departure cover’ as not all policies include it as standard – as always, the devil is in the detail so take time out o look further than the attention grabbing cheap price.
