Atlantis gives 15% off food, drinks etc. for Skwards members. Join before you go and it will save quite a lot over the stay

  • Wally1976 says:

If using Lovetheatre check that their prices are decent first. I recently booked West end tickets and found they were quite a bit more expensive than other ticket agents especially when factoring in the fees.

Off topic, expect to take a trip to Australia during the year after Aug 17 (junior doctor daughter will be working out there for a year).
Would like to use (or part use Avios) otherwise what would be a bargain cash fare (based on recent experience). Thanks in advance for any advice.
The advise I got on here re buying dollars pre Brexit vote for my other daughter’s studies in South Carolina was spot on, thanks to everyone that contributed.

    • Alan says:

Worth checking if the ex-OSL deals are still running – my folks used them twice to come out and visit me when I was working in Oz, fantastic value Club World fares – about half the normal price – and BAEC Silver from one trip. I don’t think the extra-low prices are on just now but the general fares from there were good for about a year.

Oh yes … That was a cut and paste from ba.com though 🙂

The gracious way you always acknowledge and correct mistakes but often simultaneously excuse/explain them always brings a smile to my face 🙂

Regarding Atlantis The Palm – my wife, 18 month old toddler and I are going to Dubai in November staying at Hilton ‘The Walk’ using HHonors points and my Diamond membership to get lounge access etc (want to do Dubai as cheap as possible). However I want to get my wife the Dolphin swim experience at the Palm as a special treat. So I have a couple of questions:
Whats the cheapest way to book the swim experience? Should I purchase in advance? Are there any vouchers etc?
Could we feasibly spend a full day at Atlantis without being guests? Would there be anything else to do? The water park is obviously a bit pointless (and expensive!) with a toddler.
How easy is it to get from the Walk to the Atlantis? I’ve read there’s a monorail?
    Thanks in advance.

    • R.R. says:

You will have to buy an entry full day tickets, can’t remember how much they are but they were not that cheap.
Monorail does not stretch to Jumeirah Beach where you will be, best way is taxi. They are not expensive, I normally use Uber in Dubai always a good value and nice cars.

  • Nick M says:

OT – just had an email from Curve asking me to confirm the nature of my business… not sure if this is a general check up, or if I’ve used it for something that they’re not happy me using it for!

    • Yuff says:

I’ve just had the same, however I am self employed and do own a Ltd company. However there isn’t much to use curve with now Amex have disappeared.

      • harry says:

big waste of time now no Amex, not that I said so 🙂

I guess some people got a few

ISTR David said he got 80,000 Avios out of the ATM before you even got your cards as he was a beta like Raffles

        • Yuff says:

I didn’t do too bad out of curve, I saved £180 in credit card fees, using curve where I couldn’t use Amex, and also earned 40k avios using 2 curve cards plus I got a credit card holder 😉

  • Steve says:

Extra Avios aside, the “deals” through the Atlantis website are still far less value than if you book through BA holidays or other TAs

For example, in October 1/2 term I can get flights & HB accommodation from BA for the same price as flights and B&B direct. Seeing as HB for 2 adults and 2 children is worth c. £50-75 a day depending on where you eat then it’s more cost effective (even including extra Avios earnt) then booking direct with Atlantis via this deal!

    • Yuff says:

I have always been able to get a price considerably lower, than the atlantis website, with HB incl at October half term.
However this year was a bit more difficult as my TA really struggled to get a decent deal. Fortunately ebookers came to the rescue and got me a stonking deal, during one of the Atlantis sales, and stacked with a 15% off code got me an almost bargain price for the Atlantis 🙂
