  Regarding lounge club, does anyone k!ow how the free passes with Amex Gold work? Do you get two free each year or just in the first year? If each year to the next pair appear on anniversary date? And is there an expiry date on the initial two free passes? I.e I may not get around to using them in the first 12 months, so plan to keep the Gold card for a 13th month just so I can use up the passes (unless they expire of course!)

    You get them each year and they expire after 12 months. So you’ll lose the 2 passes from the first year, but get another set in your 2nd.

      Just did a check for you and the LC card has an exact expiry date match with the 12 month anniversary of my Gold Card (even though the LC card took a couple of weeks to arrive).

  OT does anyone know what the No1 lounge at Gatwick north is like at 9am on a Sunday as due to take a family of 5 in August and as BA lounge is closed have heard bad reports about over crowding in the other lounges, any suggestions appreciated?

    I passed through two weeks ago and only space available was in Aspire. Mylounge looked on the cramped side given the number of people.

      Yes was afraid of that but not sure what else we can do. The kids are all excited about travelling business class for first time so would have been great to use the lounges. I guess if they are full we don’t have a choice?

        You do have a choice. No 1 lets you pay £5 per person online to guarantee a slot. However, this is meant for Priority Pass customers – BA customers have priority over them so you shouldn’t need it.

    I passed Aspire lounge at Newcastle just over a week ago, sign up saying no further admissions as lounge at capacity. Must have been fun in there…

  I wished I read the review of Swissport at T4 a couple of months ago. After 15min in the drab lounge I had suicidal tendencies and envious of people having a drink and food at Eat, etc. Even a sandwich from WH Smith would have been better.

  Picture slightly unfair as it doesn’t show the food and drinks area.

  I’m mostly a breakfast time T3 visitor, and (when travelling with people who don’t have OW lounge access but do have PP), I usually remain in the Servisair lounge after getting the Lounge Miles stamp – simply because it is self service.

  I value self service a lot. Despite the decor it buts them ahead of No1 in my book.
