Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Join ‘The Club of Small Luxury Hotels’ at ‘Loved’ level and get triple Avios

Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a consortium of 520 luxury hotels in 80 countries. These are primarily independent properties, many of which are well known in their respective markets.

SLH has its own free loyalty programme called The Club. It is a no-brainer joining this if you are planning to stay at a SLH property, since every member gets a room upgrade on every stay. However, if you join via the link for American Express cardholders you will be automatically enrolled at ‘Loved’ level.

Whilst it only takes one stay to achieve ‘Loved’ status anyway, the key benefits are worth having – free continental breakfast for two and late check-out. Joining via this link means you won’t have to wait until your 2nd stay to enjoy these valuable benefits.

SLH is also an official avios.com hotel partner and has just launched a new Avios promotion.

As long as you book and stay by 30th September, you will receive 1,500 Avios points for every stay. This is triple the standard rate of 500 Avios.

Full details can be found here.  Do read the small print about which rate categories qualify.

Never been impressed by SLH. Those ‘benefits’ you mention tend to never be given. My biggest gripe though is that they won’t publish negative reviews of any of their hotels on their website! So the reviews section is completely dishonest. Personally I wouldn’t bother with them.

  • HayMow says:

Was able to upgrade existing basic account to Loved status today by emailing “club @ SLH.com” (after phone helpline didn’t know what to do)… 😀
Confirmation reply received within 2/3 hours as:

“I can confirm your profile has now been upgraded to SLH LOVED tier status; in recognition of our American Express partnership.

For future stays, please remember that in order for bookings to be credited to your profile & to receive the benefits of The Club, you must ensure that your reservations are made via SLH and that your Club membership number is added to the reservation at time of booking. This will ensure that your stays with SLH will automatically be credited to your account and also that we will alert the hotel to your arrival.

Online reservation engines such as booking.com, hotels.com or Expedia do not apply, as they use a completely separate system so we would have no knowledge of your booking. Likewise, if you book directly with the hotel, we have no access to this information and hotel will not be able to provide the benefits of The Club.”
