UPDATE – APRIL 2024:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Click here for our article on Hilton’s ‘Points Plus’ promotion which runs from 1st January to 1st May 2024. You can register for the offer by clicking here.

Keep up to date with new hotel offers by signing up for our free daily or weekly newsletters.

Registration is now open for the new Hilton HHonors September to December promotion.  It is called ‘Double Up‘ and I briefly mentioned last week.

Like the Hilton Summer promotion – which got me 60,000 bonus points on my stay at Hilton Sa Torre in Mallorca – it wins the 2016 award for simplest hotel promotion:  you will receive double base points on every stay.  No hotels excluded, no cap, no minimum stay requirements.

The only ‘tweak’ is that some members seem to be receiving an additional offer when they register.  I didn’t.

Hilton Diamond 350

You need to register to take part and this can be done via the Hilton website here.

One thing that is worth noting is that there is NOT a ‘double miles’ option as we have seen in the past.  This may turn up in a few weeks.  At the moment, if you take airline miles from your Hilton stays, you will only be earning them at the standard rate.

For once, no hotels are excluded.

It is valid for stays from 1st September to 31st December.

You still receive double base points if you choose ‘points and miles’ (usually 10 base points per $1 plus 1 airline mile per $1) instead of ‘points and points’ (usually 10 base points per $1 plus 5 bonus base points per $1).

You can register for ‘Double Up’ here No registration = no bonus.

I would recommend registering now in case you forget later given that the offer runs until the end of December.

  • JohnW says:

Am I correct in thinking that it is base points that contribute to keeping Hilton status – therefore this offer will make it easier (as it’s double base points) to keep my status?

    • Genghis says:

They post as a bonus. Only true base points count.

      • JohnW says:

        Cheers, Genghis.

I got my hopes up that I would be able to keep my Diamond status – look unlikely now that they will be treated as a bonus.

        Thanks for replying.

        • John says:

If you have another hotel status then try asking for a match until 2018

          • Brian says:

Hi John, who does one ask? Thanks.

          • Brian says:

Thanks Genghis. I currently have the status match to Diamond until 2017, but it would be nice if they would extend it to 2018!

          • Genghis says:

They might offer it again. A few of us (inc myself) got rematched to March 18 post 31 Mar 16

  • Chelseafi says:

O/T I booked a BA 3 nights flight & hotel to Venice trip for April, paid £150 deposit but if I used my BA amex card (as I wanted) they wanted £20 charge? Is this new or just a charge on hol not flights, as I’m sure I’ve not seen this before? Also will it be the same when I want to pay my balance due?
    Thanks

    • roberto says:

Never been charged a fee for using ba amex for a flight/hotel package when paying after the initial deposit..

And… between me and you if you “accidentally” say that your country of residency is Ukraine rather than UK ( it’s an easy mistake ) when filling in the payment form then they won’t charge you a fee on the deposit either.

    • Jonny says:

Not sure if this is new or not on BA holidays, but if your finger accidentally slips and selects Ukraine as your billing address, you should avoid the Amex charge (at least this works for flights only)

  • Oliver says:

    Thanks for the tip Rob

  • May says:

I wonder if my stay at Hilton gatwick from 1/9 to 4/9 will be covered under double points as I only registered yesterday while in residence. Any comments?

  • JamesWag says:

Any chance you could invite me Stef 🙂

    • Stef says:

Would be more than happy to do so James but all 10 of mine went years ago!

Still, given the number of employers that seem to be attached to the programme I’m sure a few well directed questions to friends and family will reveal somebody who has access to this scheme. Best of luck in your quest.

  • Matt says:

Doesn’t look like registration is working at the moment, anyone else been unable to register in the last couple of days?
