    Off topic question.

I am flying BHX -> Doha -> Sydney in a few days.

At some point I will need to buy an iPAD and Compact camera. Which is the best option?

    Cheers.

    • Barry cutters says:

I think he means the best airport /duty free to buy it . Not which ipad

      • Callum says:

Not that I’d ever consider using Which to make that decision anyway. Better more informed reviews are available online and for free.

Maybe they’re good in some niche specialist areas (?) but for the general public I’d only suggest them if you’re unwilling or unable to use the internet.

    • the_real_a says:

There are plenty of stores in Doha (even in the airport) but you may be disappointed with the published price. The key is to understand the Hong Kong price (search the internet) and negotiate with store assistant. The other bell weather is to deduct 20% off the best price in the UK and aim for that price since shopping is tax free.

For apple products – good luck. They are very few discounts around, and you might find UK is cheapest as they are yet to price in the sterling deflation.

    • Zander says:

Hong Kong is cheaper than Doha but with exchange rates as they are, you may as well buy in the UK.

  • Stan says:

Guys I have an unrelated question. I have just made an Avios redemption on the LHR DME route in Business Club World but can not see any info on the lounge access in the T&C. Do I get the Lounge access with the redemption?

    • Andrew (@andrewseftel) says:

Yes – redemptions get the same Lounge access as cash bookings.

    • Rob says:

      Yes

      • Stan says:

One more question , it seems that Business class redemptions dont include free seat selection as I am only able to choose the seat if I pay , am I correct or do I have to contact Avios and they will choose a seat I request for free?

        • Rob says:

You need to pay unless you have BA status.

Same rule if you buy a ticket for cash.

  • Mark Edin says:

Yes. They I can also say that they get the same lounge access, but defenaite;y a question worth asking

  • Relaxo says:

OT but Melia related. How do Gold members redeem their 20% off discount? Also can the ‘birthday gift’ which appears under the promotions tab be combined with it?
