With regard to the QR sale ending 6th Sept, If I use the 10% off promo code which was recently emailed out, would that mean my flight wouldn’t count towards the globetrotter promo ?? Or is there no risk of that ?

Also, is the deadline for all departing countries midnight Doha time or is it midnight local time ? Just incase I’m last minute shopping 🙂

    • Rob says:

It started midnight local time. Isn’t there a countdown clock on the desktop home page?

    OT

I have had several Virgin Black Amex online transactions rejected due to problems with the 3D-Secure card verification. One was rejected by Take the Train.

    Has anybody else?

    • Boris says:

      Ok.

Having talked to the very helpful customer services people, it appears that my having paid the account substantially into credit to pay a transaction larger than the credit limit in 2 halves has confused / triggered various security systems.

    OT – Curve card

Having spent my required £1,000 on the card in June/July/August I’ve not heard anything more about their reward scheme. Anyone here in the loop? Hope it’s not a broken promise…

    • whiskerxx says:

      from Curve recently:
“The rewards scheme is being launched in two stages – the loyalty scheme for referral reward points and the promotional £35 in points for the pause with Amex will be launched in early September, with the second stage – the reward points scheme for actual spend – being launched in early October. Slightly later than we had hoped but this has been due to unforeseen delays in finalising the details of the scheme”

      • Alan says:

Wow I think they need to buy a dictionary to revise their definition of ‘slightly’! Similar to launching an Android app that does nothing more than tell you they’re still trying to write an app and that some how counting as a Spring/Summer launch for Android support…

    • TGLoyalty says:

Tweets suggest referrals this month and full rewards scheme next month

    • Johnnycl says:

      +1

I’m not holding out much hope TBH as nothing has come from the referral sign up yet either. They are still offering £10 referral bonuses, I think I saw in an email recently.

    • Bryan says:

I abandoned curve as soon as they ‘paused’ amex functionality. Now I just used it for creative uses of paying my amex card off with my IHG card to claim the points on both.

      1) Spend on amex
      2) Take cash out via curve (charged to IHG card) and use cash to pay off amex.
      3) Use the cash i would have used to pay off amex to pay off IHG card

OT – Can anyone recommend best travel journal app?
looking for app which can save favourites, add pics/message to a photo for a destination visited.

I prefere google maps but there does not seem to be saving favourites under different tags from my regular journeys

    • Alan says:

OneNote from Microsoft is pretty good for this, you can save a mix of things to each page, it’s searchable and synchronises between devices.

OT: does the BA guarantee to release award seats not apply to WTP? i was consdering booking my partner a ow daytime redemption BKK-LHR in WTP but despite following for a few days already I cannot find seats T-355 or even a even a single seat T-355 to T-300.

  • Jack says:

Hi all, I know this is not the right place to post this but it seems one cannot longer comment on some of the older posts. Just wanted to let you know that I’ve been approved for Barclay’s HHonors cards even though I already have the IHG barclays card. Rob pls let me know if you want me to post this somewhere else.

  • Carley says:

I already get my Tesco clubcard points converted to flying club miles, will I get 20% aswell or is it for the newly converted? Same question for the bonus 1000 points I assume I wouldn’t get that either?

  • Oliver says:

“Tesco clubcard members could win 18,000 Avios …exchange vouchers before 14/08/16”

    So did anyone actually win?

According to AviosUK the draw took place on 22nd August and Tesco were to advised the winners via email yesterday 05th September. I didn’t get any email 🙁

PS. Rob I couldn’t post this on the original thread hence apologies for gatecrashing here.
