Marriott Rewards has unveiled its promotion for the Autumn.

It is called Marriott Megabonus, which gives the impression that it is a repeat of the offer of that name which has run on a regular basis in recent years.  As it happens, the deal has been tweaked this time and has more to offer occasional stayers.

You can register here.

There are TWO different offers and you can choose the one which suits you best:

Option 1: Earn 10,000 bonus points for every 10 nights, up to 50,000 bonus points

Option 2: Earn 5,000 bonus points after your second stay with no additional bonus

These are the summary rules:

Promotion runs from September 15th to January 15th

Registration is open now and closes on December 15th

All Marriott brands are included

To be honest, there is nothing here to get too excited about.

Option 2 for light stayers is the better deal.  I tend to value Marriott Rewards points at 0.5p so, for Option 2, you are getting £25-worth of bonus points if you complete two stays. This isn’t too bad and, if you have to do one Marriott stay anyway during the period, it is worth trying to fit in another to trigger the bonus.

For heavier stayers, you are getting an average of 1,000 points per night as a bonus (worth just £5) which is not a major incentive to rip up your current plans.

That said, of course, you should definitely register via marriott.com if there is even a chance that you will do two Marriott stays during this period.  You don’t want to leave additional points on the table.

As with the new Hilton promotion I covered on Saturday, it makes sense to register NOW as you are only likely to forget if a stay comes along in three months time.  Registration also closes a full month before the final stay date so last minute registrations will not be possible after 15th December.

Next up is the new Hyatt promotion and I will then do a summary of all of the Autumn deals.

The link doesn’t seem to be working yet.

  • Doreen says:

Don’t forget the double elite nights offer for those outside US. Runs till end of year: so 5 nights will get you Silver instead of 10, and 25 nights will get Gold (usually 50) – with Gold you get guaranteed lounge access except Ritz Carlton and Ren. St Pancras.

Please could you post a review of the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa? Thanks!

    • Rob says:

Yes, back in London today and should have some time Tue or We’d.

    • Matt says:

Both the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, and the Venice Boscolo hotel, are amazing. Both have private boats that go to/from San Marco Square. You’ll be happy with either!

      • Rob says:

I wouldn’t go so far as to say ‘amazing’ for the JW.

It is severely compromised in many ways (we have been twice now) which is a massive shame. That said, it has a lot of good points and, to be honest, we would go back if I could get the same deal which was a €110 per night upgrade on a reward night to a Junior Suite which easily took the 2 kids as well.

But more to come on this ….

  • Neil says:

Interesting that this promotion didn’t appear in my Promotion Central as previous Megabonus promotions have…
