News in brief:

Bonus Heathrow Rewards points on offer

Heathrow Rewards has launched two new bonus point offers, one of which is very easy to achieve.

The first bonus is 250 Heathrow Rewards points (=250 Avios or other miles or a £2.50 shopping voucher) for using the ‘Shop & Collect’ service.

Valid only for UK or EU flights, you can make your purchases before you fly and then pick them up at Heathrow on your return.  There is no need to carry your shopping with you on your trip.  Details of that offer are here.  They may be amused when you hand them a Toblerone to store for a few days but the rules don’t mention any minimum spend!

If you are planning a big spend, you can also use the Heathrow home delivery service.  When you spend over £300, and as long as you are flying inside the UK or EU, your shopping will be delivered FREE to a UK mainland address.  You will receive 250 bonus Heathrow Points for using this service.  More details on that promotion are here.

Agree on Hilton, used to avoid them like the plague but following the status match to diamond I gave them another try. I avoid the old horrors in favour of the new openings, the DT, GI and Hamptons and its worked a treat. The DT in KL is awesome at 5 nights for 40k points. Despite spire and accelerate it looks like my sum total IHG stays will be 2 nights for 2016. We are even arranging a trip to Italy and Austria next year just to use the IHG points we have. We tend to use accor mostly in Asia in comjuction with promotions, and last years efforts will pay for Mgallery in Venice next year. However, I think the best days of leclubaccor are now passed.

Thanks James67 re mentioning DT in KL. We had booked the Aloft for two nights (total 7k SPG) but 2 nights at DT close to Petronas Towers with free breakfast and lounge access for 20k HH is more appealing. I’ve rebooked.

      • James67 says:

Very close, you get spectacular views from lounge and from the halls as you walk to your room as rooms are only to one side with other wall lined with windows. Hotel has free shuttle to towers and other points in the city. Ampang Park station is 5 minutes walk away. Breakfast selection is huge but for eggs best go to counter and have them cooked to order.

Apologies, misplaced response to CV in todays accor thread.

    • David says:

The MGallery Lagare on Murano is a lovely hotel only minutes away by boat from Venice 🙂

      • James67 says:

Thanks David, that one is a lot cheaper than the other and I was contemplating it but remain undecided due to mixed reviews. Hotel itself seems to be great but I guess some people are disappointed by location and surroundings from what I can tell. I have kept things flexible because I am hoping that HGI Mestre might become availsble for 12000 points and cash but I’m not too hopeful that will hapoen at a weekend.
