News in brief:

Get 4,000 bonus Miles & More miles with a hotel booking

The German Miles & More website is offering 4000 bonus miles when booking hotels via their website.

Until 31st October bookings made via this website will get at least 5000 miles in total adding 4000 bonus miles to the usual 1000 + miles earned with a hotel booking made with Lufthansa.

On the website it looks like you can only get the bonus miles when you speak German.

However (luckily) this isn’t true.

You need to start on this page of the German Lufthansa website where everything is in German. Once you’ve changed the location to United Kingdom (click on Deutschland – DE in the far right corner), the text will be in English. The offer won’t show on the homepage any longer.  However once you’ve chosen your destination and date you will see the 4000 bonus miles added to the earnings from the hotels shown.

Get £18 off your next Lufthansa flight

Speaking of Lufthansa, it is giving customer £18 off their next flight to Germany or beyond with a special promo code.

The promo code will be emailed to you once you’ve filled out name and email address on this page of the Lufthansa website.

Promo codes can be redeemed until 20th Noveber 2016 for travel between 21st October 2016 and 20th January 2017.

This promotion is only for flights from the UK and can be redeemed on the Lufthansa website.

OT I sent some Virgin miles to my Hilton account for the first time 12 days ago but they’ve not yet arrived. If it to soon to chase? Thanks.

Hi Peter, I think they do them in batches. Last time I did a transfer it took around 20 days but have known them to only take a week too.

  • Chris says:

Totally off topic: I have an email offering 75% bonus when buying Club Carlson points.

With the devaluation of GBP against USD this works out at approx. £33 per 10,000 points. Is this a good deal?

Received Heathrow Rewards to BAEC but transaction shows as Miscellaneous.
Would this credit OK for bonus 1000 Avios into account?

  • TGLoyalty says:

OT IHG just emailed me saying they have an up to 100% bonus on points bought before 16th November

    • Roger says:

I have similar email but with 80% bonus points.

Trouble with points is that as a family of four it allows me to make a cash booking but not with miles. As with Reward Nights it says max 3 persons and would not let me book. Not sure if there is any work around this?

Some hotels take 4 in a standard room – eg Hilton Park Lane, Holiday Inn Camden – for big chain redemptions.

        • Roger says:

          Yes, true.
I am able to book redemption at many UK based HIX for four of us, but the redemption rate is so poor, it i best to pay cash and preserve points.

I was trying to use it at CP in Auckland where 25000 point redemption makes better sense than paying cash rate of £125 or so.
