News in brief:

New Etihad Global Sale launched

Etihad has launched a new long-haul sale.  You need to book by 31st October for travel between 15th January and 30th June.

Prices seem to be ‘OK but not outstanding’, to be honest, starting at £345 return for economy trips to Abu Dhabi.

£1500 from Heathrow to Abu Dhabi in Business Class is a good deal given that you will be getting the fantastic A380 Business Class Studio which I reviewed here, but we have seen sub-£1000 fares to the Middle East recently on other carriers.  £1855 to Singapore isn’t bad. Australasia destinations are in the £2500 – £2700 range.

Oddly, flights from Manchester and Edinburgh are a little bit pricier than those from Heathrow.

Full details can be found here.

‘Credit Card Reviews’ series returns

Starting tomorrow, I will be re-running our annual ‘Credit Card Reviews’ series.  This will see a full length review published on EVERY airline and hotel credit card in the UK – a total of 25 in total.

All of the older reviews have been updated, and some recent releases will be reviewed for the first time.

There will be two reviews per day. If you receive HfP by email, both reviews will be in the same email although the headline will only mention one review.  Don’t worry – other miles and points stories will continue to appear as usual.

A video blast from the past

I was looking through some old HfP articles the other day and I came across this Downfall spoof which surfaced when the Avios devaluation was announced back in early 2015.

Don’t be fooled by the slightly weaker first 30 seconds.  It is very good.

And the last section is genius.

If you’ve never seen it before you’ll love it.  If you have seen it before, watch it again.
