Today only: Accor ‘Blue Monday’ bargains for UK hotels for next two weekends

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Accor (Sofitel, Novotel, Ibis, Mercure, Pullman etc) has the best ‘last minute’ scheme of ANY UK hotel chain.

Every Monday and Tuesday, it makes rooms available for the following two weekends at aggressively low prices.  Ibis hotels outside London are just £25 per night.  At the top end, the Pullman hotel in London is just £90.  The other brands are priced between £25 and £90.

Full details of how ‘Happy Mondays’ works are in this article.  One smart thing to do is book a UK hotel room as a points redemption with another chain and then, two weeks before the stay, cancel it and rebook on a ‘Happy Mondays’ rate.

Novotel Blackfriars pool

This week, the offer is extended

To ‘celebrate’ Blue Monday, which is apparently the most depressing day of the New Year (fully back at work, not been paid yet, regretting quitting the booze for a month ….), Accor has extended the offer.

If you book today (Tuesday 17th) via this special page, you can access super low rates for the following nights:

  • Friday 20th
  • Saturday 21st
  • Sunday 22nd
  • Monday 23rd
  • Friday 27th
  • Saturday 28th
  • Sunday 29th
  • Monday 30th

The usual ‘Happy Mondays’ pricing applies:

  • £25 – ibis hotels outside London, some ibis Budget inside London
  • £40 – Novotel and Mercure outside London, ibis London hotels, selected Mercure and Novotel London hotels
  • £60 – Mercure, Novotel, ibis styles in London
  • £90– Pullman (only St Pancras is participating)

In reality, some of the Ibis London pricing looks lower than the list above if you take a look at the participating properties.

The Novotel Blackfriars which I reviewed here is just £60, photo above, website here.  That is a genuine deal if you look at my review.

Remember that you need to book TODAY for the dates above.  The booking link is here.

“Every Monday and Tuesday, it makes rooms available for the following two weekends at aggressively low prices”

This is very useful to know. I had thought Happy Monday was for the next weekend only. Being able to book 2 weekends out makes it easier to plan 🙂

    Cheers Rob

I find it odd about this deal – there is absolutely no difference between it and the usual Happy Mondays deal. You’ve been able to book for Monday nights ever since they changed the system to allow bookings for two weekends. I don’t know if that was a glitch, but it was certainly possible. So they are pretending this some great new offer, but it’s actually just the same great old offer!!

  • chris says:

i got my hopes up because i was hoping to stay at the pullman, but it doesn’t show up — only novotel, ibis, mercure.

    • Rob says:

Pullman StP is on the list (but not Liverpool) – doesn’t mean they have rooms left but in theory was there.

  • BigDave says:

Of course I would need a hotel only on a Thursday…..

  • Smid says:

I was going to chime in that the only difference between this and any normal happy mondays offer is that the Monday applies, but it appears that it has been applying for a while (perhaps by mistake, never had the need to book one, so wouldn’t notice).

It’s been able to book the weekend after the coming weekend for several months now.

    • C77 says:

You’ve been able to book Monday nights tagged on to at least a Sunday (not just Monday) for a while now. Nothing new here what so ever and having booke happy Monday yesterday in London for 2 weeks time the availability is exactly the same too

  • Dr Tom says:

It’s not well known, but some hotels (particularly outside London) also make the Happy Monday rates available on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the middle week.

Use the “monday” code to book.

On the subject of Accor, did anyone successfully register for their business meetings promotion (ended 30 Nov I think) and receive 1,000 points? I didn’t receive anything and have been told by them now that the 1,000 points were for completing 1 booking – something not mentioned in the original offer (which surprisingly has now completely disappeared from their website).

    • Genghis says:

      Nothing here either

Rob if you read this and still have the press release you refer to in your original post on this points offer would you be able to email me a copy so I can get back to the very well run Accor club. Thanks
