ITB Berlin news in brief:
The new Emirates A380 bar revealed
Emirates showcased their new A380 business and first class bar at ITB and I thought I would share a few pictures.
Emirates had brought along a fully fitted, actual size, not-a-model bar which had presumably been diverted on its way to the Airbus factory. The colour scheme is noticeably lighter.
The new bar will be installed on future A380 deliveries but will not be retro-fitted to the existing fleet of 96 aircraft.
Emirates claims that the bar can hold 26 people including eight seated.
The new A380 bar has got two seating areas for four people – one laid out like this:
…. and a table for four laid out with a three person sofa and one seat at the end of the table.
The seats each have a belt allowing seated passengers to remain in the bar during period of turbulence.
According to Emirates it “will also introduce soundproof curtains to partition the Onboard Lounge area from the other cabins, put in additional soft ambient lighting options, new window blinds with integrated LED mood lighting, and subwoofers for surround sound.”
Qsuite video on YouTube
Our main article yesterday was on the launch of the impressive new ‘First Class comes to Business Class’ Qatar Airways Qsuite, being rolled out from June.
As I wrote this quite late at night I didn’t have time to edit the video I shot at the launch. I have inserted it below if you want to take a look. It is only 75 seconds long and covers the event and the seat.
If you want to subscribe to our YouTube channel and be notified about future videos, click here to visit our YouTube channel page. You can also watch the video via that page if it does not appear below.
Two official Qatar Airways videos of the new seat can be found in my article yesterday.
