June 15th. Last day to transfer points from 8 hotel programmes to American Airlines and receive 25% bonus.

    • Sundar says:

      Does that include Starwood ?

      • Roger says:

        Yes it does.
So 20K SPG will convert to 31250 AA miles.
I have a Marriott Travel Package booked and expecting 150K AA miles.
        Transaction still pending.

      • xcalx says:

Yes, SPG is the only worthwhile transfer partner.

  • Graham Walsh says:

On the VA ECO to PE upgrade vouchers with the credit card, looking at the price difference between two flights, it is only worth £157 per voucher on say LON > DXB (but then less say £70 for half the cc fee). I had better value out of this year. Time to rethink the air line strategy I think. Or just do the minimum of sign up bonus, spend £10k and wait for voucher to post.

    • TGLoyalty says:

You’ve paid the fee why stop if you still want more VS points? 2/£1 is the best earning rate out there and 1/£1 on the visa is very good too

  • S says:

OT: if you cancel a BA amex that still have an Avios balance, am I right to think they’ll transfer over to BAEC on the usual date despite the card being cancelled?

    • Genghis says:

They should do but you may struggle to get them. @Liz can testify to that. I’d wait.

      • Roger says:

To share my experience they did not transfer Avios to BAEC after cancellation of card, but Amazon CS has been very helpful, particularly secured message via your online account.

In the end they credited my Avios as MR points in my Gold card account.
My lessons learned is not to cancel card until your points have reached destination account.

    • Liz says:

Once the link between Amex and BAEC is broken they can’t fix it – I had to get my points added to my husbands BAEC number as his BAPP was still active – all going to the same pot anyway but more bother than it was worth – wait for the points to transfer out and arrive before cancelling.

  • N says:

OT. On my app, on the rewards page for my PRGC, I’ve got this entry :

    29 May
PRG MR Message Bonus 12 months + 10 grace days statement
    0 points.

    Any idea what this means?

  • Roger says:

OT_ Amazon discount code £15 off £25 spend

Has anyone used this recently? While trying to use this on a new account, I get error message saying accounts cannot be linked. Anyone in similar situation and knows what the fix is?

    • Andrew* says:

My wife couldn’t get it to work with her Amex Plat Charge card; Amazon CS useless so just gave up (I had used it a while ago with my Plat Charge card)

She used it fine yesterday with Amex Plat *Credit* card

    • Crafty says:

Had to give up. Amazon and Amex cs both useless. But Amwlex eventually gave me £15.

    • Liz says:

I couldn’t get it to work a few weeks ago either. Gave up in the end.

  • Roger says:

Another OT_ Has anyone seen Amazon GC at Tesco lately?
I know there is no bonus but have to cash out my Tesco GC I bought earlier to meet signup bonus.

    • johnny_c-l says:

Yes, plenty around in the various Tescos I’ve been in recently (SE England / Yorkshire). Not seen the 3x £10 multipack for a while though, but plenty of £15, £25, £50, £100 GCs.
