  • Kinkell says:

Morning All. My Amex offer is £10 off a £45 Heathrow Express spend, rather than £50. Is it different tfor everyone? Managed to use it twice, so quite pleased.

  • Alex W says:

Amazon Prime Day 6pm Monday 10th to midnight Tuesday 11th. This got lots of HfP coverage last year.

Also 23rd July – last day to get 3000 Clubcard points with a child’s car seat.

    • Rob says:

Amazon hasn’t sent us the deals list in advance (yet?) which will crimp coverage this year.

  • Roger says:

Just to mention some noteworthy offers on Amex

    1. £35 off on £100 spendat Thistle Hotels in UK
    2. Guoman but spend is £195 IIRC
    3. Eurostart £20 off £60 – Rob probably already mentioned
    4. Red carnation hotels £50 off £250 spend

    • Genghis says:

I messaged Amex CS earlier this week and asked them to add the Eurostar offer to my brand new Plat card. “No problem Mr Genghis”. Fantastic. Meant I paid cash instead of transferring MR points to top up a Eurostar Frequent Traveller acct.

    • Rob says:

Thanks, will slot this in for Tuesday.

  • Delbert says:

OT – has anyone received the 1000 Avios sign-up bonus that Marriott Rewards ran in early June? My wife and I both signed up on the day Rob’s article ran and we are yet to receive the points.

Anyway, I have emailed Marriott this morning for an update.

    • totaltool says:

I am in a similar position so keen to hear how others got on

      • Delbert says:

        Will let you know, totaltool.

We signed up well before the offer was pulled so should reasonably expect that Marriott honour the offer.

    • Cathy says:

I got mine within a couple of days. I have never been a member before

      • Anna says:

Did you activate your account Cathy? The email I got said the avios had been earning just for signing up, but I’m now wondering whether the account actually needed activating as well.

        • Cathy says:

          Yes I did

          • Anna says:

That might be it then. I’ve activated one account, see if the avios post. It does say on the email they sent after registering that the avios had already been earned, so this is quite misleading on Marriott’s part.

    • Anna says:

All Household account signed up, not had any!

    • Mzungu says:

@Delbert – any news from your email to Marriott? I’ve checked and I did activate my account, but still no Avios. Hmmm.

  • Jon says:

One to add – Wed 12th July is also the last day to get 100% bonus when buying IHG points (according to my account – not sure whether it may be targeted).

  • Mark newstart says:

OT what the max clubcard points you can exchange for airmiles
I recall someone mention there is a limit.

    • Genghis says:

Didn’t realise there was a max? There was a max transaction limit when there was the transfer bonus on a year or so ago to qualify for the bonus but you just split it into multiple transactions.

    • Rob says:

No limit. Max earning is 30,000 Clubcard points per quarter, Tesco Bank excluded.

      • Mark newstart says:

Thanks Rob I may have got confused with the 30,000 Clubcard points per quarter.
