Which British Airways European routes do not offer lounge access?

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

On Saturday we ran a review of the ANA lounge at Porto airport.  This is notable because – whilst it is the only lounge at Porto – British Airways refuses to pay for Club Europe or status passengers to use it.

(If you read HfP by email, you didn’t receive this review because I felt it was a bit of a niche topic to drop into 10,000 inboxes.  You can read the article here.)

Courtesy of Flyertalk, I have a list of all British Airways short-haul destinations which do not offer lounge access.  This is a great bit of crowd sourcing work from the FT community. Keep this list in mind next time you book a trip and are considering whether to upgrade to Club Europe or not.

  • Ian says:

Does anyone know why they refuse to pay for lounge access? Is it all new routes or just these specific routes? They should at least do what they do with RTM and give you 3 items from a shop! They should do that at LCY too

    • John says:

Why does BA refuse to pay? Because they don’t care and would rather save the money, and because people keep flying these routes even without lounge access (most of the routes have not had lounge for a long time).

  • Robin R says:

Ibiza accepts Priority Pass / Lounge club (PP last used on 19/09/17)

  • Simon says:

If BA added a similar list to their booking processes it would feel less like they are trying to keep this quiet when selling CE tickets…Surely they don’t prefer to have those passengers turned away and feeling short changed just for the fun of it??

    • John says:

Some people may feel short-changed but other people continue to fly BA, so it doesn’t really matter to them.

  • ringingup says:

CAG has no priority pass lounge.

  • Jeremy Parsons says:

Annoyingly at ACE BA passengers used to have lounge access initial the refurbishment

You can pay on the door but it’s not worth the money , I use used it via PP it’s ok but nothing special

  • Andy says:

just surprises me how many lounges fall into this list!

  • Sarah says:

I found this out the hard way at RHO recently. Even the Prioroty Pass lounges are accessed from landside so you have to be escorted there and then later to your gate through a special security track.
To make matters worse all the flights back to the UK (and a few others too) are scheduled between around 20.00 and 23.00 so there’s massive overcrowding. Not fun!

  • Vand says:

I was able to use TLL earlier this year under BAEC .. perhaps it’s changed since then. It wasn’t anything remarkable, so either way not much to miss there.
