BOOKABLE TODAY: New IHG PointBreaks list of 100 x 5,000 point hotels

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The new list of 100 IHG Rewards Club (the Holiday Inn, HI Express, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental etc group) PointBreaks redemption hotels is bookable from today.

PointBreaks rooms are a fantastic deal if they fit with your travel patterns.

All of the hotels below will be available for just 5,000 IHG Rewards Club points per night, saving up to 25,000 points per night in some cases.

PointBreaks availability is very limited so book ASAP if you are interested. Bookings are refundable as with a standard reward reservation so there is nothing to lose.  IHG works on US time – they are meant to go live about 5pm UK time but are often there an hour or so earlier.  It could be 2pm based on recent lists.

You can book via the IHG PointBreaks page here or via the standard booking page here.  If the PointBreaks page has not yet been updated, it does not necessarily mean that the special deals below will not already be bookable – do a search on the hotel you want to check.

You will be able to book these hotels for stays up to 31st January.

You are allowed a maximum of two bookings per individual hotel. Each booking can be for as many nights as you want.

Remember that if you attempt to amend your booking later by dropping a night or two the whole booking will reprice at the full rate.

Unfortunately, this is a very America-centric list.  Pickings are thin elsewhere.

As usual, it is an – ahem – eclectic list.  The most interesting one, to me, is Crowne Plaza Belfast – see the pictures above and below.  If you want to visit the Titanic museum as well as check out some ‘Game of Thrones’ filming locations, this could be good.  It is not in the city centre, however.  We all have our individual travel schedules for the next three months and – if any of these hotels prove suitable for your itinerary – you’ve got a great deal.

Panama would be good. Based on my experiences of Central America, also Iberia fly direct so can get there for 125k peak / 80k or so offpeak from madrid. Currently diving in Belize . Very interesting place to visit . Cheap flight, was only £1400 return via Miami on AA. 77W both ways for the long haul and an a319/ e190 on he short haul. Bit of a change from usual Caribbean destinations but very interesting. Great diving , including a bit of a scary face-off with a bull shark yesterday, great fishing both flats and deep, kite surfing, and excellent sea food- lobster dinner for 20usd inc a beer. Only problem is – just a few too many Americans for my liking . Anyway belize 8/10 , reccomended

I’d miss out Belize city we had a night there on way out but nothing more than a cruise stop for yanks . Took a Cessna caravan on the 20min flight to San Pedro, Did 8 dives over the 5 days and a half day fishing trip I enjoyed it but the place is a little commercial, on caye caukler now , more of a koh San road feel to it . Just had a whole red snapper cooked with veggies and sides for $12usd each Margaritas for $3. Back to mainland tomorrow then Doing a couple days visiting ruins etc . Then heading back to Miami for 3days/2nights of craft beer and lounging staying at the z ocean CP on points. Hopeing to get a top floor suite with a pool off the back of spire elite status. Fingers crossed.

sounds like what I paid for lobster (adjusted for inflation) when I dived off Roatan – about $10 circa 1996

I took my wife (then girlfriend) diving off GBR – she probably half-bribed her way to PADI OW before she flew out to join me and was pretty inexperienced – I persuaded her to do a night dive much against her will and said how fascinating it would be, I coaxed her down 10 metres and right then a bloody great big bull shark went by about half a metre away! it was so funny (scary as well), she was back on the boat in about 10 seconds lol (well, not really that quick)

Panama is ace. Bocas del Toro is beautiful, Panama City exciting and vibrant, and from the summit of Vulcan Baru you can see both the Pacific and the Atlantic. Loved it.

Definetly on the hit list for me . avios via Iberia definetly way to go . Although We have Peru in may so may wait a little as don’t want to overdo south/Central America and sicken ourselves.

This is making me inordinately grumpy. I stay at Hiltons all the time, my primary current account is HSBC, and I have a BOS one too. Yet I’ve never had a single one of these offers! Mine are all for almost-dead retailers like Holland and Barrett, and places I’ve never heard of like Bystored.

kind of off topic but related:
ihg have started a 5 day flash sale 39 pounds upwards for December to February 2018 stays. this is on the app at the moment. some rates are cheaper than their guide price! lots of UK ones unlike rewards.
