Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Good Best Western promo – £10 gift card for every stay

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

We don’t cover many Best Western Rewards promotions on Head for Points, simply because there aren’t many of them.

It is worth keeping an eye on the scheme though.  Here is an overview of Best Western Rewards that I wrote recently

Please note in particular:

they will match your status from ANY other hotel loyalty scheme

and if you don’t have any, they will match your Virgin Atlantic airline status

if you don’t do enough Best Western stays to justify collecting Best Western Rewards points, you can earn an attractive 500 Avios or Virgin Flying Club miles per stay instead

During December and January, Best Western Rewards has an offer which is worth noting.

Free £10 gift card with every stay

For every stay you make at a Best Western hotel between 1st December and 31st January, you will receive a £10 Best Western gift card.

There are very few rules.  In particular there is NO minimum length of stay and NO limit to the number of £10 gift cards you can earn.

Here are the key things to know:

You MUST register in advance at this page of the Best Western website

Any stay globally which qualifies for Best Western Rewards points will also qualify for a £10 gift voucher.  This means that bookings made via Expedia etc will not qualify.

You will be emailed your £10 Best Western gift card within 2-3 weeks of completing each stay

The gift card will be valid for 120 days from the date of issue

Given that some Best Western hotels can be very cheap, picking up a £10 Best Western gift card and 500 Avios or Virgin Flying Club miles from a one-night stay seems pretty attractive.

Don’t forget to register via this page of the Best Western website.

In a change since the article that you link to Rob, I see that both Avios and BA have now been added as Best Western airline partners.

    • Adam says:

I was going to say the same. They are a partner for Vueling Club and Iberia Plus as well (And therefore I assume Aer Club) – earning 500 Avios per stay

    • Rob says:

      Yes, I screwed up 🙂

  • HayMow says:

I was unable to register on my Mac’s Safari browser as the membership no. field doesn’t appear – successfully used Firefox instead.

My local best western has a special deal on for winter , £45 bed and breakfast so i booked a room for saturday the 16th of December . I wonder if i can cancel this booking then remake it through the deal to claim the £10 ??
Come to think of it , i think as it was special , it was a non cancellation deal ……..

    • Rob says:

Register now and you may get it, their IT may not be so good.

B W Rewards IT – Tell me about it 🙂

I booked a BW hotel points stay (by phone). Afterwards found my Rewards account had ‘lost’ my Email address. I reinstated it but ever since have had to sign-in using my membership number as my Email no longer recognised (I’ve typed it correctly, I checked).

Later had a letter from the hotel with my address as normal except apparently they think I reside in Iran (Islamic Republic Of).
No country field in my account to correct that so I’m just going along with it.

        • Mark LLL says:

I registered, have a couple of stays already booked, those may or may not count for the ten pounds BW gift card, also may or may not receive it to my Email address. Fingers crossed.

      • Scottydogg says:

Ive registered for it today , if i get it then its a welcome bonus 🙂
Thanks for the heads up .
Also going to flash my ‘Best Western Diamond card’ to see if i can get anything else out of this stay 🙂

  • Pangolin says:

Thanks for the reminder about the 500 Avios.

BW isn’t normally my chain of choice but I have to do an overnight in ARN (Arlanda) for a flight to HKG and BW looks the best option in terms of affordability, especially as having to overnight in ZRH (Zurich) for a recent flight to SIN practically bankrupted me.

Although BW will status match anyone, bear in mind that status means practically nothing in their program (yes, even less than IHG and Accor!).

    • Doug M says:

Which hotel are you considering? Anyone else offer suggestions for a minimum effort low cost overnight at Arlanda.

      • ee says:

Check out the Raddison Blue Arlanda, we got it for about £80 earlier in the year via Hotels.com (including breakfast).

  • Geoff says:

Tried to cash in some BW points to BAEC at the end of October – the points have gone from my BW account but no sign of them over at BA. I have contacted BW but the customer service department appears to be fairly poor.

Thanks for the heads-up about sending BW rewards straight to BAEC though.

  • Hayley says:

Is there anything stopping 2 people in the same household registering for the BW offer and then booking 2 nights, 1 after the other but in the 2 different names and with the 2 different accounts? That way you get 2 lots of the £10 reward + 2 lots of 500 Avios?

    • Rob says:

If you check in and check out then you should be OK, make sure the hotel doesn’t merge the bookings. The front desk won’t care if you explain why you’re doing it, they are not footing the bill.
