It seems that the 50% bonus on converting Tesco Clubcard points to Avios points will also apply to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles.

From the Clubcard website:

Virgin Atlantic 747

Exchange your Clubcard vouchers between 16 July and 31 August 2012 and receive 50% more Flying Club miles. For every £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers exchanged, you will receive 937 Flying Club miles instead of 625.

(Please note if your Clubcard points have already been converted into Clubcard vouchers for your August statement, just manually exchange these for Virgin Flying Club miles before 31 August 2012 in order to receive the 50% extra Flying Club miles)

Plus if you ‘auto opt in’ you will receive an extra 1,000 bonus miles during this period.

Offers ends 31 August 2012

  • George says:

I have 400 tesco points on one account right now, if I auto opt in today, will I get exactly 1937 VS miles by the 31st of August and no more?

Do you know if the VS account needs to be registered in the UK for this to work? Or do they need the exact same name? (I know there are various problems with the name and address when converting to avios.com.)

This is perfect for me as I currently have 18064 VS miles, plus 1937 = 20001 which will give me 40K HH points and I can close my VS account, since I fly BA now. Want to minimise waste as much as possible (although considering wasting ink just to get the points on another ac for the other promotion!)
