Should you transfer your BAA WorldPoints to Avios now?

As I posted on Saturday, 27th October is effectively the end of BMI Diamond Club.  This means it is the last day to transfer BAA WorldPoints to BMI Diamond Club (and thus on to Avios).

Now, there is a dilemma here if you have a BAA WorldPoints balance:

You currently earn 750 Diamond Club miles (= 750 Avios airmiles) for transferring 500 WorldPoints.  However, you only earn 600 Avios if you transfer 500 WorldPoints directly to BA or avios.com.  This means you effectively get a 25% bonus for going via BMI.

Twice in the last year, BA has run a 100% conversion bonus for turning your WorldPoints into Avios.

Here, then is your dilemma.

Do you transfer your WorldPoints to Avios via BMI before 27th October, and thus get yourself a 25% bonus?  Or do you hang on, waiting for another 100% bonus which may never come?  Your call …..
