BAA WorldPoints goes Heathrow-only from today

BAA WorldPoints enters a new phase today, as the programme becomes Heathrow only.
With the sale of Gatwick and the upcoming sale of Stansted, this was a logical move. Heathrow, with an astonishing £1.7 BILLION of annual duty free sales, makes up over 95 per cent of group duty free revenue.
As of yesterday, the WorldPoints name seems to be staying in place short-term. The existing website has been updated so that it only mentions Heathrow and not the other airports.
However, ‘Heathrow Rewards’ and ‘Heathrow Points’ have both been registered as trademarks and web domains, and I would expect to see a change in the medium term.
(No idea what will happen to the ‘BAA’ part of the name, though, as BAA no longer exists – each airport is now run totally separately.)
Perhaps, if we’re lucky, they may relaunch their credit card. The WorldPoints credit card, before being scrapped, gave you WorldPoints for your spend and unlimited free First Class upgrades on the Heathrow Express.
