Here is something else I picked up from our Dubai holiday via Gulf News.

British Airways has historically had a bad reputation for bussing passengers from the plane to the airport. Things have massively improved in the last 18 months, of course, since Terminal 5C opened. BA has even started putting on separate buses for business class passengers.

Out in the Gulf, of course, they are doing things bigger and better.

Now THIS is what I call a shuttle bus:

Emirates shuttle

Emirates now has a fleet of these buses for the exclusive use of First Class and Business Class passengers travelling to and from aircraft on remote stands in Dubai. And very nice they look.

How to earn Emirates Skywards miles from UK credit cards (March 2024)

Emirates Skywards does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Emirates Skywards miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Emirates Skywards miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Emirates Skywards mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it.

They have separate busses for J pax at DOH as well. Even for BA!

      a bus is a bus.

The fact that Dubai has a brand new airport and still has to bus lots of arrivals is poor show. IMHO

The new airport isn’t open yet for passenger traffic. Terminal 3 at the old airport is new, for EK use. I think they are getting squeezed now until the new airport transfer happens, which is not for a while.

Yep I meant the old new airport!! Which is for EK use, and everytime I’ve been there I’ve had to be bused back to the terminal, and often quite long journeys around the perimeter fence
