Flying Blue, the Air France / KLM loyalty scheme, has added some interesting Business Class rewards to its latest list of ‘50% off’ redemption specials.

Full details can be found here.

The stand-out deals appear to be ‘Europe to New York’ and ‘Europe to Toronto’.

Flying Blue

If you book before 28 April, for travel before 30 April, you will need only 50,000 miles for a return flight in Business Class, plus the usual taxes. That is a pretty decent deal, albeit that Air France does not has the greatest Business Class seat or service. But for 50,000 miles ….

Mumbai is also available, same dates, for just 60,000 miles return. Dubai is also there, at just 40,000 miles for Business Class – a great Easter getaway if you can find a seat.

One-way tickets are also available for half of the above. There are also some Economy offers, but given the taxes these probably still do not offer great value for money.

Amex Membership Rewards points can be transferred to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio.

Beware of the small print: “These promotional Promo Award@ may not be modified, cancelled or refunded.”

How to earn Flying Blue miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Flying Blue miles from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Air France and KLM do not have a UK Flying Blue credit card.  However, you can earn Flying Blue miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Flying Blue miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Flying Blue mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it.
