Last month I posted about BA’s new promotional video, showing you what you can expect on its new A380’s.

(The answer, unfortunately, is ‘not much’ …. at least, nothing radical.)

The first British Airways A380 has just left the Airbus paint shop in Hamburg and BA has released a few pictures. The plane is due to be handed over to BA in July, with Los Angeles being the first route from October. Hong Kong will follow in November.

A380 2

and

A380 3

The only novel thing to watch out for, apart from the rather snazzy spiral staircase, is the 2 x 3 x 2 layout in Club World, which will see a solo middle seat appear for the first time.

Hmm they’re showing up fine for me…

    • Rob says:

Hmmm. What device are you on? Works on an ipad and my PC.

    • Ben E says:

      Yeah working now, sorry.

Interesting how they’ve mixed classes across the decks. I’ve only been on the Emirates 380 and their lower deck is all economy and top deck 1st/biz

      • Rob says:

…. which works well, as you separate boarding.

If you do Emitates in Business or First, you never even see the other pax. You board directly from the lounge at Heathrow, directly onto the top deck, and come off separately in Dubai!

I made a minor technical change to the blog yesterday which should speed up, very slightly, the loading of photos in posts and on the home page. However, it will only work on new posts from today so it will take time to filter through.

The missing photos may have been linked to this, as they are now stored on a different server to the main blog which means in theory the blog may load but the pictures (if the other server is overloaded) do not. In theory things improve, though, as the image server is faster than the main one.
