Starwood, the aloft, Element, Four Points, Le Meridien, The Luxury Collection, St Regis. Sheraton, W, Westin hotel group, has released details of its new promotion.

Called ‘Double Take’, it is a model of simplicity:

Starwood SPG

You will earn double SPG points on all Starwood stays

You will earn 500 bonus points per stay if you book via the SPG Android or iPhone app

You must register before your first stay at this site

Stays must be between May 1st and July 31st

Whether this promotion is better or worse than Hilton’s ‘Daily Grand’ (1,000 or 2,000 bonus points per night) depends on how much you are spending.  However, both Starwood and Hilton deserve praise for creating a promotion which does not require a minimum number of stays before you can benefit.

    Thanks Raffles!

I have 5 nights in the Westin Mumbai planned in early June so this will do nicely. Any idea if these promos tend to be double base points (2 per $) only?

I’m SPG gold & and get the 50% tier (so 3 per $) bonus which posts as a separate line item.

As you point out its nice to see a SPG promo that doesn’t require x nights within y period. Think the only one I’ve qualified for previously was some Hotel credit which I received months after and had forgotten about (off to search for it now to see if still valid!).

I just received the SMS to say that this promo is now live and have registered.

Thanks Craig. I have updated the ‘Hotel Promos’ page to reflect this.
