Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Tesco now giving 4,800 Avios / 5,000 Flying Club miles with Diablo III purchases

Yesterday was one of those odd days.

On Friday night I wrote an article about pre-ordering video game Diablo III from Tesco Direct which was offering 1,000 bonus Clubcard points (2,400 Avios).

When I woke up on Saturday morning, with the post live, the bonus was down to 500 points and the deal didn’t make sense financially.  I was very grumpy (I can change the site but I can’t recall 1,200 emails).

Then, during the day, it went up again.  Not to 1,000, but to 1,500 Clubcard points.

And now, it is giving 2,000 bonus points per copy.

2,040 Clubcard points – over 5,000 Avios in total – is a great deal for a £40 video game which should resell for £30 on eBay with little trouble.

Do NOT order more than one per person as Tesco has, of late, been cancelling multiple orders.  Remember the Dan Brown book etc.

whilst we are on tesco clubcard talk.

Anyone still seeing 3v cards in tesco stores?

Tesco customer services told me they have stopped stocking them.

    • Flyoff says:

Yes. I picked up £500 of them today from two stores I was passing. Wearing my work suit I keep getting comments about being a good boss as they think I am giving them as incentives to my employees! If only they knew the real reason.

    • Nick says:

      Yeah, bought 6 yesterday.

  • James67 says:

Preorder instore for £5 gets you 1000 bonus clubcard points! Time to go shopping then cancel dorect orders.

    • chris says:

any links for this since tescos dont show it,

tho i will look in my local one later (if so than yes much much better preordering in store and canceling direct orders)

online £40 spend = 2040 , 1540 or 1040 points (based on when you ordered) *tho funny that the clubcard statement has listed my spend as £1540 for one single order but lol*

instone £40 spend or 8 preordered copys = 8000 points (tho losting out on resale this way but still worth it)

  • Howard says:

Bought 1 using my daughters name.

The clubcard points came directly onto her BA Amex Account and not on Tesco. Strange!!

    • chris says:

maybe she has auto convert set in the clubcard account (im not sure if you can auto convert to BA amex but i know you can to some other airmiles)
