Last chance to book Hilton’s 40%-off ‘Great Getaway’ sale rates

I wrote back in July about the Hilton HHonors big promotion entitled “Great Getaway”, offering discounts of up to 40% on rooms in Europe. A smaller discount of up to 25% applies elsewhere in North America, the Middle East and Africa, and 20% in Asia-Pacific.

Tomorrow, September 2nd, is the last day to book rooms under this promotion.  You can book for stays at any point up to the end of the year.

Rooms will require prepayment at the time of booking. Note that the ‘40% discount’ claim is based on the discount from the refundable rate for that night, so the saving on the standard pre-paid rate will be lower than 40%. You also need to book 7 days in advance.

No Hilton promotional code is required.  The rates will come up automatically when you search on the Hilton website.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2024)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

Did you know that the Virgin Atlantic credit cards are a great way of earning Hilton Honors points? Two Virgin Points can be converted into three Hilton Honors points. The Virgin Atlantic cards are the only Visa or Mastercard products in the UK which can indirectly earn Hilton Honors points. You can apply here.

You can also earn Hilton Honors points indirectly with:

• American Express Gold (20,000 bonus Amex points)
• American Express Rewards Credit Card (10,000 bonus Amex points)

and for small business owners:

• American Express Business Gold (20,000 bonus Amex points)
• American Express Business Platinum (40,000 bonus Amex points)

The conversion rate from American Express to Hilton points is 1:2.
