Eurostar is about to launch a major sale on its Standard Class tickets.

The sale goes live in a day or so – it may even be live by the time you read this.  However, members of Eurostar Frequent Traveller were given this link here in order to book before the massive advertising campaign starts.

It is important to note that you don’t need to be a member of Eurostar Frequent Traveller to book via this link.  At the end of the booking process, you can click ‘check-out as guest’ and you pay without needing to register.

As of Wednesday afternoon, there was surprisingly good availability at the £59 level for Friday out / Sunday afternoon back tickets to Paris.

You need to book before September 16th, although the good weekend seats won’t last long once the general public starts to book.  You can travel between 30th September and 19th December, with a couple of black out periods.

Remember that American Express Platinum cardholders can use the Eurostar lounges in London and Paris.  No guest are allowed, although if your partner has your Platinum supplementary card then that will be fine.

How to get Club Eurostar points and lounge access from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Club Eurostar does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Club Eurostar points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 15:1 into Club Eurostar points.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, so you will get the equivalent of 1 Club Eurostar point for every £15 you spend.

American Express Platinum comes with a great Eurostar benefit – Eurostar lounge access!

You can enter any Eurostar lounge, irrespective of your ticket type, simply by showing The Platinum Card at the desk.  No guests are allowed but you can get entry for your partner by issuing them with a free supplementary Amex Platinum card on your account.

I’ve just checked availability using the link in the pre-sale email from them, zero availability throughout the whole promo period. Have they really completely sold out?

  • esperluette says:

I had the same problem but tried again yesterday at 2330 uk time via a different screen and was able to book one of five remaining seats at peak weekend times out fri 600pm and back sun 500pm.

That’s a Lille bit annoying cos I was thinking about booking Lille for half term

  • Frenske says:

I checked immediately after I got the e-mail. And I looked for Paris and there was tons of availability.

  • Dan says:

I booked some sale tickets to visit a friend in Belgium in November. Ideally I would have chosen the “any Belgium” station but I’m pretty sure that Brussels or Paris were the only options in the “To” dropdown box. I’ve had some back-and-forth by email with Eurostar and they are blunt and insistent that “any Belgium” was an option at the time of booking but they are unwilling to retrospectively alter my tickets. The sale has now ended so I can’t investigate myself or take screenshots. Does anyone else remember not having this option when booking?
