Hilton Flash Sale and ‘1,000 Avios per weekend night’ bonus

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Back in August, I wrote about a good Iberia / Hilton promotion. This was offering 1,000 bonus Avios for every weekend night you stayed – a Friday / Saturday / Sunday night would pick up 3,000 Avios! This is on top of the usual 750 Iberia Plus Avios that you would earn from your Hilton stay.

A British Airways version of this promotion has now appeared. This means that you do not need to bother about opening an Iberia Plus account and transferring the points across.

Full details can be found here. All Hilton brands are included – Hilton, Conrad, Hampton Inn, Waldorf-Astoria etc, although Hampton and Homewood Suites only offer 200 bonus points per weekend night.

The offer is valid for all weekend stays up to 16th December. You MUST register via the link above to receive the bonus.

Secondly ….

Hilton is running a three-day ‘flash sale’, starting today.  It offers up to 33% off standard rates at weekends for the rest of the year, at properties across the UK, Europe and Middle East.

You take a look and book here.

Thirdly ….

Hilton is also offering a ‘Winning Weekends’ promotion for its London hotels.

You need to stay a Friday / Saturday or Saturday / Sunday (ie two nights) and will receive a 25% discount on the Best Flexible Bed & Breakfast rate. You also get a scratch card for a Hilton competition at check-in!

These rates may or may not be cheaper than the ‘Flash Sale’ rates.  However, both should show automatically so it will be easy to compare.

Typical Hilton fake sale. £169 for Canary Wharf on the weekend? No thanks. Looked over Europe and can’t find a single “good deal”. Shouldn’t even be called a sale. Is this it for a holiday sale then? Last year was good.

Only one interesting might be Doubletree Dunblane at £83 DBB. Saw it at £78 with last sale though and the reviews are awful.

  • LHR Tim says:

Hmmm…Sale? They don’t even have a single weekend sale rate in November for…Sheffield of all places? Points and 33 quid much better deal (even if I have to spend $80 to top up my points)

  • Stu says:

Hilton Reading at £49 is the cheapest I’ve found… and that was an advanced purchase rate and nothing to do with the flash sale!

  • Elena says:

Yes the discount tracks on cash back,I used it last week in two hotels.they didn’t even ask us for ID or anything.

  • Elena says:

I am quite happy with this sale if i have to be honest, i have 5 days in London end of the month and 5 days in Dubai. It gave me a much better deal with this sale for a weekend rate, But the two middays is skyrocketing. So we will see.

I have question about the avios points, i stayed last week and they tracked fine on the Iberia promo they appear in my Hilton account but not on the Iberia. Is this how it is suppose to be?

    Thanks

    • Graham says:

It took about 2 weeks for them to land in my Iberia account last time (versus a few days for BA). So yes, this is normal.

  • signol says:

I found the customer service email very helpful in adding points, in my case the extra 1000 for Gold members.

  • KageyWorld says:

Thanks, as usual, for your insightful reports. Had delayed booking hotel for upcoming Istanbul trip. Now at Hilton Old Town for less. Sometimes pays to wait.. Certainly pays to read this blog. Paid euro 103 /nite w breakfast. Hotels.com lists as euro 250 no breakie! Sweet
Plus booked thru iOS app AND registered for double points
    Double sweet

  • What's the Point says:

I recently booked via TPC and used the Hilton Public sector rate, initially it tracked and then it got cancelled. I asked TPC to clarify with Hilton why it got cancelled, but never heard back from them.
TPC customer service is not the best!
