Book your £1 Qbic hotel room in London today between 12 and 4pm

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the new Qbic hotel in London and their plan to offer 5 rooms per day for just £1.

This promotion is going live today at midday.

QBic London

The system is a little odd – whether it is fair or not I can’t decide. There are 425 rooms over 85 days (December 15th to March 15th). Qbic is only allowing 425 people to enter the booking website. Access will be spaced out between noon and 4pm, so basically every 30 seconds one person who clicks the link will be allowed to book.

That person is then allowed to book one room for one night from the remaining list of dates.

It is not clear what happens towards the end of the process. As you get nearer 4pm, there is very little chance of the remaining rooms being available on a date you want. Does that mean that Qbic will not actually be selling 425 rooms for £1? After all, most people will have one or two target days in mind and will simply not book if they don’t find one they want.

Tried several times with no success…before asking myself why I was bothering!

    Mailinator.com is very handy though.

Darn! I thought I was only allowed 1 go with 1 email address – had people been using same email address multiple times?

Also – for those who failed, have you seen they’re repeating it on Facebook today. How I don’t quite understand though.

    • Rob says:

They are using Facebook to get rid of unclaimed nights.

It was 1 entry per email address, but you could use Mailinator,or the Gmail trick to create multiple addresses.

At last view, there was a good few weekdays left. I managed to grab a couple of rooms in the end, was much easier at 3pm+

This was similar to the Hoxton £1 giveaway when it first launched back in ’07 (i think), I managed to grab 2-3 rooms easily, each subsequent giveaway became more difficult to the point where it was not worth even trying.

  • Clive J says:

The Facebook thing is open but it requires use of an app which is not supported on mobiles. They claim they are working on it. They also say the offer is open for a week so they must still have a good number of rooms.

  • pazza2000 says:

Far more difficult this time, only 25 x £1 rooms available at the end of 7 days taking entries (already upto 170)

  • Matt says:

    Anyone else had this email?

“We’d like to get in touch with you regarding the £1 room that you recently won – your booking is not confirmed. Would you be able to give me a number and a suitable time to call you on.

I look forward to hearing from you.”

I read something about a few people receiving incorrect stay dates within their confirmations (in the 1970’s), and that the property would be in touch to rectify this. Let us know your outcome though, I provided an incorrect email and as such they will have no means to contact me beforehand re. my stay.

A bit OT but do we know of any other good offers which would be relevant to a hotel room in London on (this) Saturday night? No preference for brand, just good value!
