Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Get 125 Clubcard points for free in return for your insurance renewal dates

For the last few months, Tesco has been running a promotion offering Tesco Clubcard points if you filled in a very short form telling them when your various insurance products were up for renewal.

It was 100 points, dropped to 75 points, went back to 100 and is now back – at its highest ever level!  It is now offering 125 Clubcard points (300 Avios, 312 Virgin Flying Club miles).

Here is the form you need to complete.

You are asked for your car, home and pet insurance renewal months.  You only need to add in one date to get your 125 points, so I recommend just doing that.  It will reduce the level of spam email Tesco sends you later on!

The deadline is 18th February.

The small print does seem to imply – albeit not very clearly – that if you have got points via this offer before then you cannot get them again.  No harm in trying with a different Clubcard if you have a few, though.  I just tried it again using the Clubcard number on the bottom of my Tesco credit card.

The last time I did this, I never got the points, tried to chase and no-one knew anything about it so I gave up !! but this time it worked and my 125 points arrived 2 days ago! 🙂

    • craig says:

I got my 100 for ‘car insurance’ long after I’d forgotten about the last time I gave dates – have patience, they come through in the end! 🙂

  • Mark says:

My Clubcard account shows 100 points for “CAR INSURANCE2” deposited on 11/11, as Raffles says no harm in trying again, I too used the Clubcard number from the bottom of my Tesco credit card.

  • Barney says:

Got my 100 points from the last promotion. However, I am struggling to convert them into avios. Is there a minimum amount of points you need to have to be able to convert?

    • Clive J says:

Barney, you need to wait until the end of this Tesco collecting period. Tesco will turn your points into vouchers and you can convert them to Avios online.

      • Clive J says:

The current collecting period will end around 20th Jan 2014 and you will need to have collected a minimum of 250 points to exchange a minimum £2.50 voucher to Avios.

        • Rob says:

          Isn’t it 150 minimum?

          • The Other Steve says:

I think it’s 250 minimum, then you can exchange for every 100 after that, if in the same transaction as the first 250.

            I think.

  • Clive J says:

I think Tesco my be playing catch-up on some of their offers. I completed the insurance questionnaire ages ago but the points have just posted. Also just got the bonus points for a Tesco Photo promotion a while ago.

  • Maria S says:

Thanks again for the heads up
