UPDATE – APRIL 2024:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Marriott Bonvoy is offering 1,000 bonus points per night and double elite night credits on stays between 13th February and 29th April. Click here to read more and click here to register.

The Starwood Preferred Guest Quarter 1 2014 promotion will be called “Bring On The Nights”.  This could be of interest if you are likely to be staying at a Sheraton, W, Westin, aloft, Luxury Collection, Le Meridien etc hotel next Spring.

There is a holding web page now available although you cannot yet register.

SPG Starwood 350

It is certainly a straightforward one:

  • You will earn 2,500 bonus Starpoints for every 5 nights (nights need not be consecutive) up to 20 nights
  • You will earn an additional 5,000 point bonus on your 25th night

This is not uber-generous – with a Starpoint worth 1.5p – 2p in my mind, you are effectively getting an extra £10 per night in rewards.

This obviously accelerates if you hit 25 nights, but the qualifying period is only January 5th to April 30th.  Given the relatively modest number of SPG properties in Europe, that will be very tricky.

I will let you know when registration opens up.  Competing promotions from the other chains should drip out over the next few weeks.

One thing to note is that registration closes on February 28th despite the April 30th closing date. Starwood is particularly bad at this, effectively disenfranchising people who don’t know their hotel plans well in advance.  It will be worth registering just in case, on the off-chance that you end up in an SPG hotel on short notice on business.
