Here is a bumper bunch of new IHG Rewards Club bonus point codes

UPDATE – APRIL 2024:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Click here for our article on IHG’s ‘2000 Bonus Points’ promotion which runs from 1st April to 31st May 2024. You can register for the offer by clicking here.

Keep up to date with new hotel offers by signing up for our free daily or weekly newsletters.

Various new IHG Rewards Club promotional codes have come to light.   These will give a decent boost to your next paid stay at a Holiday Inn, HI Express, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental etc.

IHG issues these codes to incentivise members, usually lapsed ones.  They are sent out by targeted emails or by leaflets included with new membership cards.  However, anyone can register for these codes.

Here are the new 2014 codes we know about:

1039 – Receive Gold status after one stay (aimed for Hewlett Packard employees but …..)

7667 and 4040 – New Stay Bonus (1,500 points on your next stay)

4047 and 3007 – Elite Member Next Stay Bonus (5,000 points on your next stay, Gold or Platinum member only)

6636 and 8000 – Anniversary Bonus (1,000 points per stay for 60 days, may be the same offer)

2656 and 8994 – Welcome Back Bonus (3,000 points on your next stay, may be the same offer)

3050 and 8834 – Elite Member Next Stay Bonus (3,000 points on your next stay, Gold or Platinum member only)

9944 – New Member Bonus (3,000 points on your next stay)

9990 – 2000 Bonus Points Per Stay for 60 Days

8647 – 1000 Bonus Points Per Stay for 90 Days

6796 and 8645 – Weekend Stay Bonus (usually requires a US account address, posts a few weeks after your stay)

3006 and 3007 – Elite Member Winback Bonus (3,000 points on your next stay, Gold or Platinum member only, may be the same offer)

6783 and 8317 – Platinum Bonus (seems to post when your Platinum status renews)

5000 – 1000 points on your next stay within 60 days

You can add these codes to your IHG Rewards Club account at this page.  You may not be able to register for all of them because some may represent the same promotion, just with a variety of different sign-up codes.

You should also look at my last article of IHG Rewards Club codes.  Some of these may also still be working in 2014.

Because all of the codes have a limited 60-90 day life, do NOT sign up until you have a paid IHG stay coming up.

If you are working towards ‘The Big Win 2’, these codes may make the promotion more lucrative than it would otherwise have been, as each individual stay will now generate a decent bonus.

The ‘My Offers’ page of the IHG Rewards Club website has been broken since the New Year, so unfortunately you will not be able to see what offers have definitely been activated on your account.

IHG One Rewards update – April 2024:

Get bonus points: IHG One Rewards is offering 2,000 bonus points for every two cash nights you stay (not necessarily consecutive) between 1st April and 31st May 2024. You can read our full article here and you can register here.

Only half show up on my account (UK based). Most of the rest are “duplicated” from previous offers so perhaps different codes for the same offer.
Penalising ‘normal’ users for posting these codes on their account is not what they want to do. It is simply to stop industrial scale abuse of the system. After all you have to stay to trigger the benefit. Leakage outside the target customers can be that bad or they would fix the technology problem despite the cost.

Just booked my cheapest Holiday inn ever HI Haydock M6 Jct23 £20.70 or with breakfast for 2 £26.10 1st Feb.. It looks more than OK with pool gym and bars

    • Jenni says:

It’s a decent enough hotel, we stayed there last year for the Big Win. Room was dated, and we had a meal in the restaurant as well (we had booked a dinner b&b rate) which was alright, nothing spectacular. We really enjoyed breakfast though.

      • trickster says:

Pretty much describes the “Holiday Inn Birmingham M6 J7” to a tee as well. Good rates can often be found there. We stayed just before Xmas to go to the Christmas Markets in the city centre. Easy bus ride in.

        • Will says:

I “stayed” there as well. I’m reality did a mattress run for my big win and we then stayed at the Crown Plaza NEC for the wife’s big win. Xmas market was good

    • CV says:

Stayed here also, and have same comments as Jenni about it. Dated, poorly maintained rooms, but great breakfast.

    • Stuart McIntyre says:

Thanks for the extra codes, xcalx. Together with Raffles’ list, that’s quite a bonus for stay in London tonight! 😉

    • Stu says:

I might be tempted as that’s an extremely cheap rate not too far from me! Being so low, does it qualify for the bonus codes that are listed on this thread?

      • Rob says:

If it is a rate that is showing publicly on the IHG website, then you will be fine. Heavily discounted corporate rates which require a special code, or Friends & Family rates, are harder to get to qualify.

If you can get something for, say, £30 then you will make money on this, given that the points are worth £5 per 1000 if used well. Check out your Big Win promotion first and see if you can achieve that as well.

      • xcalx says:

Yes it qualifies for the bonus codes and also the Big Win . For me it ticks off 1 of the stay 5. 1 of the 2 brands. 1 of the 2 saturday stays. 1 of the 2 change your view HI stays and 1 of 2 book with us. Shame its not listed in the Manchester list of live the city properties.

    • Martin says:

Thanks for these, top 5 all registered no problem, a couple of others I already had.

    • Trevor says:

Thanks for that list. Please report back afterwards to confirm which codes actually worked.

  • Eric Joseph says:

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I am continually getting the following message during login:

We are sorry, the IHG® Rewards Club system is currently unavailable. You may still make reservations without your IHG® Rewards Club member number. Just modify your reservation later to add your member number or present it upon check-in at the hotel.

    • M says:

Well sorry to tell you that but your account is temp suspended.

    • Simon says:

It might be an account problem but it’s worth trying another browser as well, I’ve had issues logging in using Google Chrome on my tablet but it’s worked fine on my laptop.

  • Stuart McIntyre says:

Quick question… If the IHG Rewards Club is set up to pay BAEC Avios rather than IHG points, what happens to the bonus points? Do they get paid as Avios or added as IHG points that could be transferred to Avios later?

  • thesaver79 says:

Do you think a stay at the Holiday Inn in Croydon will qualify for this?

Would paying £35 be worth it?

    • Rob says:

These codes aren’t going anywhere, they should continue to work all year. Unless you have a defined need for the points, I would try to work an IHG brand hotel into your existing travel schedule rather than spend £35 unnecessarily.

      • thesaver79 says:

I applied all the codes yesterday before your post without knowing the would only be valid for 60-90 days 🙁

    • phil says:

i stayed there last night….will let you know

  • Phil says:

Raffles, I have a question for you, I am IHG Platinum elite and rich in points (>500,000). I never stay in IC hotels (except on points). I do however have a rewards booking (3 nights) at the IC Carlton Cannes.
I know Platinums are not guaranteed any upgrade at IC hotels, so do you think it is worth my while spending 27k points on Ambassador status. Will this make any real difference to my Cannes stay? I am unlikely to use the free night certificate. So question probably boils down to whether I get a better upgrade due to Amb status and is this worth 27k points.

    • Rob says:

I did a Carlton stay on points, as Ambassador, last year (search for my review). I got upgraded to a bigger room (not sea view) and got the 4pm check-out. I would have got the free pay TV films as well had I wanted it.

It is not 27,000 points, because you get 5,000 points for joining so the net cost is 22,000 (so £110 of value). The ‘2 for 1’ can be sold on ebay or traded with someone, usually for their 5,000 points voucher.

If the 4pm check-out is useful because of your flight back, it is probably an acceptable deal, especially as you’d have the bigger room for 3 nights.

I’m also not sure why you think its unlikely you’d use the free night certificate. Once you have it, it is valid for a year. There are IC’s in most major cities, and the 2-4-1 rate (plus the 4pm check-out) means you’d get a fantastic deal on a weekend break somewhere during 2014.

      • Phil says:

Thanks Raffles, just read you review, think I will apply, just need to work out whether I need to apply now or immediately before the stay to get the best value of the year membership

        • Ed E says:

I am in exactly your position and am debating whether to do this or not! 3 nights stay at IC Cannes in August (over EUR2,000 worth of value) and debating about Ambassador. I will also see how I feel in points and other planned IC stays before my stay.

          • Will says:

If you have already reserved the standard room on reward night rate can you buy ambassador and get the benefits? How would you attach that info to the booking

          • Rob says:

It may or may not automatically go across – always best to email the hotel a few days before in such cases.

Your Ambassador room upgrade will usually show online a few days before check in so you will know if its processed.

      • nux says:

Isn’t Ambassador 32,000 points, so net cost of 27,000?

        • Rob says:

Just checked and, yes, it is. He must have knocked off the 5,000 point rebate when he said 27,000.

  • Simon says:

Thanks – forgot I had some points to burn. Is it me or is the list for the hotels which only required 5,000 points now absent from the site?

I did note the Haydock xcalx mentioned earlier… probably a bit far from me. Ipswich is around £35 (excluding breakfast); are there any other great value propositions in the South?

Wouldn’t mind doing one soon, so I can get some points for a bigger trip in May.

    • CV says:

For reward stays the Holiday Inn Wembley is 10,000 points per night, looks a decent hotel, has a pool.

      • Toddy says:

I have stayed here on points before.

Looks grim from the outside but inside has been recently refurbished and is very nice. Local access to both train and underground stations make travel into Central London easy.

An absolute steal at 10,000 points IMO.

      • Jenni says:

I was absolutely astonished a few weeks ago to find the Wembley Holiday Inn still available for 10,000 points a night for one of the NFL games played there this year. I snapped 2 nights immediately, because at the time the cash rate was a whopping £250 a night! This also saves us the hassle of traveling across London after the game. In all honesty now that the 241 rates have all but disappeared (for last years 49ers@Jaguars I got the Holiday Inn Express Earl’s Court for £140 for 2 nights, no such luck this year!) even if the hotel is average I’ll gladly take the saving, and use it for a show and a nice meal in London on the Saturday night. Last time we had dinner at the Roux at Landau, it was quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever had (or at the very least tied with Rostang in Atlantis Hotel Dubai).

  • olybeast says:

Can you guys post a link where I can buy ambassador status for points? I can only find it for sale for $200

    • olybeast says:

P.s. Just lined up a crown plaza club room stay for 67 to start off my big win and these points 🙂 Heathrow
