Here is a bumper bunch of new IHG Rewards Club bonus point codes

UPDATE – APRIL 2024:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Click here for our article on IHG’s ‘2000 Bonus Points’ promotion which runs from 1st April to 31st May 2024. You can register for the offer by clicking here.

Keep up to date with new hotel offers by signing up for our free daily or weekly newsletters.

Various new IHG Rewards Club promotional codes have come to light.   These will give a decent boost to your next paid stay at a Holiday Inn, HI Express, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental etc.

IHG issues these codes to incentivise members, usually lapsed ones.  They are sent out by targeted emails or by leaflets included with new membership cards.  However, anyone can register for these codes.

Here are the new 2014 codes we know about:

1039 – Receive Gold status after one stay (aimed for Hewlett Packard employees but …..)

7667 and 4040 – New Stay Bonus (1,500 points on your next stay)

4047 and 3007 – Elite Member Next Stay Bonus (5,000 points on your next stay, Gold or Platinum member only)

6636 and 8000 – Anniversary Bonus (1,000 points per stay for 60 days, may be the same offer)

2656 and 8994 – Welcome Back Bonus (3,000 points on your next stay, may be the same offer)

3050 and 8834 – Elite Member Next Stay Bonus (3,000 points on your next stay, Gold or Platinum member only)

9944 – New Member Bonus (3,000 points on your next stay)

9990 – 2000 Bonus Points Per Stay for 60 Days

8647 – 1000 Bonus Points Per Stay for 90 Days

6796 and 8645 – Weekend Stay Bonus (usually requires a US account address, posts a few weeks after your stay)

3006 and 3007 – Elite Member Winback Bonus (3,000 points on your next stay, Gold or Platinum member only, may be the same offer)

6783 and 8317 – Platinum Bonus (seems to post when your Platinum status renews)

5000 – 1000 points on your next stay within 60 days

You can add these codes to your IHG Rewards Club account at this page.  You may not be able to register for all of them because some may represent the same promotion, just with a variety of different sign-up codes.

You should also look at my last article of IHG Rewards Club codes.  Some of these may also still be working in 2014.

Because all of the codes have a limited 60-90 day life, do NOT sign up until you have a paid IHG stay coming up.

If you are working towards ‘The Big Win 2’, these codes may make the promotion more lucrative than it would otherwise have been, as each individual stay will now generate a decent bonus.

The ‘My Offers’ page of the IHG Rewards Club website has been broken since the New Year, so unfortunately you will not be able to see what offers have definitely been activated on your account.

IHG One Rewards update – April 2024:

Get bonus points: IHG One Rewards is offering 2,000 bonus points for every two cash nights you stay (not necessarily consecutive) between 1st April and 31st May 2024. You can read our full article here and you can register here.

FYI. I had my first 2014 night in an IHG property last weekend. I just noticed in my account that the 21 days in advance saver rate + the additional 10% IHG member discount is not a qualifying stay. As a gesture he offered 500 points.

After a long discussion with the helpdesk they changed it into an adjusted stay and I still got the points. Next time I will not use the rates including the additional 10% off. My wife had a similar stay for the same rate last year where the helpdesk also changed it after a Phone call in an adjusted stay. I referred the IHG helpdesk employee to the exception they made at that time, and that may have helped (probably also because she is platinum).

    • Rob says:

They should qualify. More likely that the hotel is putting these through as non qualifying by mistake.

      • CV says:

I’ve checked 3 upcoming reservations, one of which used the 10% off rate, all are points earning.

        • Tom says:

          How do you check?

          • CV says:

Look on the reservation on IHG website, it stated the points to be earned (doesn’t count promo codes)

          • Trevor says:

Login to your IHG account and check your upcoming reservations, then select the desired reservation and see if it shows points earned for the booking. It’ll also always show what points should be earned (though in reality the amount always differs for me when posted) at the top when you do the booking so you know then if it’ll be qualifying. Always take a screenshot of your upcoming reservation details, as after the stay you’ll never see that again, and hence have no proof that it was a qualifying stay if/when the points don’t post. I’ve kept screenshots for each booking (call me paranoid, but…) and needed them twice in the past 6 weeks to prove stays were in fact qualifying!

          • Tom says:

Groovy – mine is showing as qualifying (one of the 10% discount adv. rates..).

            Thanks!

    • xcalx says:

I have just booked 3 Holiday inns using that rate and all show as point earning.

      • James67 says:

It may be additional 10% discount that caused problem. I had a single paid stay for whole of 2013 to pick up my stackable pointz (26k) for £37. I declined to add the extra discount to remove any risk. So Im 2.5 nights Wembley for £37 🙂

        • Erico1875 says:

This is a point that needs clarifying. I thought the 10% off is just to reward you for being a member. If it doesnt qualify for any points then its not much use.

          • John says:

You should usually get the points if the rate is more than 70% of the flexible rate, not that anybody knows what that is..

        • Leon says:

The additional 10% discount was indeed the problem. At the time I booked it showed that I would get points (which did not at the end, untill I called). So at the time of booking I thought it was ok. I was told today that the advance saver rate on itself is ok, as long as you do not opt for the additional 10%..

    • Isolde says:

Just to add another confirmation: I also used the 10% offer and the points have posted to my account.

  • Frequent Flyer Top Stories: IHG Promo Codes, United Miles with Hotel Booking and Delta Awards to Asia says:

    […] Link – Head for Points […]

  • davef says:

Just took out the PC Black card to help with the big win, 30k points for taking the card, 20K on the big win for taking the card and using it once, then probably 20K+ with assorted bonuses including completing another 3 of the 8 big win challenges for this qtr, all for a 1 night stay costing £20.70.

Is 70k a points to pound record for a single night? 🙂

    • CV says:

I used Raffles link last October, got 40,000 IHG points for taking out the card. Then received 35,000 points on first IHG stay, then the big win points on completing it (51,000 for me), plus further promo points along the way. All these points are paying for my hotel stay in Hong Kong!

      • Trevor says:

A great haul and one I’m thinking of doing too. Anyone know if the 40k IHG link is still working for new applications?

        • Alan says:

Yes it is – at least it was a month ago, 40k showed up on my statement, just need to wait for them to post across now. They also said the Plat status with the Black card would be sent across at the same time.

          • Trevor says:

Good to know, that’s for reply. I could be joining the PC Black club shortly…

        • Rob says:

Someone emailed me last week to say they had just got 40k, so it was as of a few weeks ago.

          • davef says:

The link you gave me a couple of weeks ago said 30k. I made my 1st booking last night so will wait and see what posts.

    • James67 says:

No, no record at all. You got about 20k for £20 but paid £100 for the other 50k via the card as I understand it. No worries though, you are still a winner because those 50k points will get you an IC night worth way more than £100 or if the right pointsbreak comes along 10 nights that could be worth as much as £500-1000. I have booked ICs in Japan this year but I’m hoping I may still strike lucky and get them as pointsbreaks.

      • davef says:

50K is the tip of the iceberg. OK I didn’t factor the card cost in as I was getting that for platinum requalification anyway, I was saying more that 1 single night for 20 quid posted all those points at once.
The final Q4 big win night for me posted 87000 points but it cost me £125 for the indigo for that final night.

This time, I only have to spend around £250 all in (including the CC cost) to complete my challenge and it’ll gain around 185,000 in total this quarter.

I value those based on my fave hotel in NYC at just under £1000. Probably just over actually as you don’t get stung for sales/room tax on points bookings.

        • james67 says:

Yes, I got a good big win this quarter too, probably because I just made one stay during last which was rubbish for me. This time I’ll be getting 89k big win plus other stackables for around £160 at 2 HIE and 2 HI. Two of those can be necessary preflight sleepovers and the other two can be a Saturday night away. They renewed my platinum for me last autumn for this year despite no paid stays to that point in 2013. In previous years I had racked up a decent number so I guess they just hoped I’d stay and be more active again. That saved me on the black visa which I had been planning to reapply for.

          • davef says:

            Watch your status carefully.

I checked in at a property on last Saturday and was greeted as a platinum member. By Tuesday this week I’d dropped to gold and when the points posted today they were posted as Gold.
My Black card arrived this week, so it should go back to platinum shortly but I’m not going to quibble about the missing platinum bonus points as I don’t want to attract attention having been awarded things like ‘new member’ and ‘win back’ promotion codes for the stay.

I see on the PC Connect site that people have had their accounts cancelled recently so I’m staying under the radar rather than moan about 400 points.

          • james67 says:

Will do although I actually got a letter from them through the post saying my platinum was being renewed for 2015 so hopefully no problems.

  • Akhil Gupta says:

Will these post on a stay that I have booked via Hotels.com. The booking is showing in my IHG account as I asked the hotel to put my IHG rewards number onto the booking? Thanks

  • whiskerxx says:

Well I got quite excited when I read the title, and I’m pleased that some people reading this have had some success, but this is rather old news Rob.

    • Tom says:

Fortunately – as you say – not to everyone! As illustrated by nearly 100 comments.. and my observation is that hotel threads often don’t get that much pick up!

    • CV says:

New codes only became available a couple of weeks ago, with no-one knowing what they would earn. So it needed someone to use codes, stay at hotel, then have the points post to account. Would say the news is very current (with codes verified) and applicable for rest of the year.

    • Rob says:

I won’t run them until someone has proved they work, which generally means John at Loyalty Lobby as he literally lives in hotels, mainly IHG.

We only had confirmation of some of these earlier this week.

We are, what, Janaury 17? The majority of these codes only got released in various mailings after January 1. Stays take 5 days to post after you check out. Not sure how it could have been much quicker!

      • Stuart McIntyre says:

Wow, someone is being pretty negative. I for one was thoroughly grateful for you publishing these, Raffles…

        • whiskerxx says:

          Apologies if it sounded negative.
I have benefited hugely from the information provided by Raffles and Headforpoints.
But usually I read stuff on here and think – how the hell does he find out about all this stuff?
On this occasion I’d already signed up and points had been posted, so it was greed and gluttony on my part which led to my disappointment that it wasn’t a whole new batch of codes, along with my astonishment that I had gained a benefit before it was posted on Headforpoints.

So I’ll end more positively, with a thank you for the fairly recent reminder about the opportunity to get a 40,000 bonus for the PC Black Visa.
I signed up a couple of weeks ago, used the card for a stay last night and am awaiting the points to post, and the card should provide further benefit as part of my Big Win 2014.

      • davef says:

        New Stay Bonus 1500
        Anniversary Bonus 1000
        NEW MEMBER BONUS PROMOTION 3000

All just posted for me. Weekend Stay and 5000 point platinum bonus didn’t post despite being sat/sun night and platinum.

        • Rob says:

Weekend Stay tends to require a US address in your profile.

Platinum Bonus requires you to be Plat and posts in arrears – my wife got it last week but hasn’t done a stay in 2 months.

  • Jason says:

Got declined for priority club credit card looks like a common problem for those with a hilton credit cards anyone successful cancelled hilton card and reapplied for priority card successfully?

    • Phil says:

Ditto Jason, yet getting the IHG credit card is part of the criteria for my big win.

It is therefore impossible for me to win!

    • davef says:

I was accepted for the PC Black last week and I currently hold a Hilton card as well. They gave me twice the limit on the Hilton.

I have to say though, I think it’s appalling of IHG to make the CC application part of the big win. Lots of people don’t want or need that card.

It’s also a poor challenge for those who get all their company travel booked for them as I do. There’s no way I could fulfil it on company travel alone as ours aren’t booked direct and that’s one of my targets too.

  • Thunderbirds says:

After sending in my two pieces of ID by post I was accepted for the Black IHG card at the beginning of this week. No problems for me as I only have cards via AMEX and MBNA. I too have the additional 20k offer on my big win so I used the old 40k application link mentioned above and will post when/if a bonus comes through.

    • james67 says:

Thanks for trying the 40k link. The thread may be closed by the time you know so please email Raffles what happens so he can keep us informed. After reading these latest replies I was curious so rechecked my Big Win and sure enough the cc was there for me too. This is somewhat odd as I’m absolutely certain it wasn’t there before because I recall something else being there that I didn’t understand so I made a mental note to study it later. That something else has now been replaced with the black visa! Obviously I would prefer to use the 40k link if it tracks for big win so I will await results of your application.

Thanks. I only added that yesterday, it wasn’t in the original post. Only seems to work for a few people looking at comment elsewhere.
