Last day to book Club Carlson redemptions at current rates

Today is the last day to book Club Carlson redemptions at Radisson, Park Plaza and Park Inn hotels before the new redemption chart comes into effect tomorrow, March 15th.

Tomorrow, a new Category 7 is launched, requiring 70,000 points.  This replaces the current cap of 50,000 points for Category 6.  Initially, only nine properties will be in Category 7:

• Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai
• Radisson Blu Le Dokhan’s Hotel, Paris
• Radisson Blu 1835 Hotel & Thalasso, Cannes
• Radisson Blu Le Metropolitan Hotel, Paris
• Radisson Blu Hotel Champs Elysees, Paris
• art’otel, Amsterdam
• Radisson Royal Hotel, Moscow
• The May Fair, London
• Plaza on the River, London

A number of other others change category, both up and down.  The list is here.

The other UK properties going up are the Radisson Blu Edinburgh, Radisson Blu Manchester Airport, Park Inn Telford and Park Inn Doncaster.

If you are thinking of booking into one of these properties, even tentatively, you should book today.  You can, after all, cancel without penalty at any point and get your points back.

Paris is clearly the city hardest hit.  Even with The May Fair at 70,000 points per night, there will still be a lot of decent Park Plaza and Radisson redemptions in London at 44,000 – 50,000 points per night.  In Paris, pretty much all of the decent options will be 70,000 points.

Interestingly, Club Carlson lets you book MORE than a year ahead.  The May Fair, for example, is currently showing availability up to 31 December 2015 – you can lock in an award night for up to 21 months ahead at the 50,000 points rate!

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.
