First Hotel Indigo in Paris opens in October – now bookable for just 30,000 IHG points

Hotel Indigo is the ‘lifestyle / boutique’ hotel brand inside IHG.  There are currently three Hotel Indigo properties in London, two in converted town houses – you get quirky room sizes, quirky layouts, modern design and a free (soft drinks) mini-bar.

IHG is now gearing up to launch the first Hotel Indigo in Paris.

It is located literally next to InterContinental Le Grand.  It is one road back from Rue Scribe, which is where the main entrance of the triangular LeGrand property is located.

Here is the website for the hotel.

With just 57 rooms, this will genuinely be a ’boutique’ property.  The rooms are a surprisingly decent size for Paris with the basic rooms coming in at 27 square metres.  This is bigger than a Classic Room at LeGrand ….

The official opening date is currently October 15th.  Reservations are being taken from that date, although there is always a risk that the date will slip.  That said, as this is a conversion of an existing hotel the timetable should be relatively firm.

A points bargain …..

InterContinental Le Grand costs 50,000 IHG Rewards Club points per night.

At the moment, the Indigo is showing at 30,000 points.  As often happens, IHG is offering it at an artificially low price to help fill the rooms in the first few months.

30,000 points is a fantastic deal.  For comparison, some Holiday Inn properties in central Paris run to 35,000 points per night whilst a central Holiday Inn Express will be 30,000.  None of those will be as central, or as pleasant, as the Indigo.  The two established Indigo hotels in London cost 45,000 points per night.

You can book the hotel for up to a year in advance at this 30,000 points rate.  Rooms are fully cancellable as per usual IHG reward night policy.

It’s a shame there are no two bed rooms available on points

    • Rob says:

These things are often negotiable, either for a small cash upgrade or as a favour by the hotel if you have status. You’d need to wait until nearer opening though as I doubt there are reservation people there at the moment.

    Thanks,

Just booked for twixt Xmas and New Year for a couple of night – but kept the HIE one already booked “just in case”.

Interesting little thing: the HIE says cancel up to 4pm on the day of arrival, but the Hotel Indigo says up to 4pm the day BEFORE arrival.

Is this a change in T&Cs? Might catch some people out.

  • Ben Randall says:

What I’ve found is the reward nights cancellation policy for a given hotel reflects that hotel’s cancellation policy for cash bookings on a flexible rate.

So there are a few variances between one brand and another.
