Ibis Hotels are not the height of luxury, by any means.  The chain has good coverage these days, however, and if all you need is somewhere to lay your head then you should do just fine.

(The one in Greenwich in London, the only Ibis I pass on a regular basis, also benefits from a fantastic location right in the middle of the town and only a few steps from the DLR station.)

Ibis is part of the Le Club Accorhotels loyalty programme.  This also includes Novotel, Sofitel, Mercure and M Gallery among other brands.

Accor promo

I wrote a two-part overview of Le Club here and here.  Where it differs from other hotel loyalty schemes is that you redeem your points for money-off vouchers.  Unlike other hotel schemes, there is no advantage in using your points in expensive cities or at expensive times of the year because you only receive a fixed value for them.  You can also have your points sent directly to airline miles.

Ibis is running a very generous promotion.  If you book any stay at a UK Ibis or Ibis Styles hotel at their ‘Summer Sale’ rate, you will receive 2,000 Le Club Accorhotels points.

These 2,000 points will get you:

a €40 credit towards any future stay at an Accor family hotel (any brand)

1,000 British Airways Avios points (if your account is set to earn miles instead)

2,000 Iberia Plus Avios points (if your account is set to earn miles instead)

If you want to take miles, the obvious thing to do is to open an Iberia Plus account – if you don’t already have one – and then transfer the Avios over to British Airways Executive Club at a later date.  Your Iberia account needs to be 90 days old before you can make a transfer out of it.

You can find further details on this offer and book via this Ibis web page.

It does not say that it is limited to one booking per Le Club Accorhotels account but my best guess is that it is.

You need to book by Sunday night (July 27th) but you can stay at any point up to November 2nd, which is an interesting timeframe for a ‘Summer Sale’.
