How to convert ANY number of Accor points to Avios

  When clicking the airberlin accor link I can’t seem to find where existing members can log in. Only where you can register to create a new account. Can anyone help? Thanks

  Alas the site then turns Greek and I’ve no idea what to do. It does look like 2,000 points is the Iberia minimum though.

  I am afraid it does not work for me. After step 3, I am just taken to a page where it’s asking again for my email address, which then gets highlighted in red in error with no explanation.

  Yes the site turns Russian, and even if you click on the big button in Russian, you are then just taken to the normal accor site, which is a mess at the best of times. Accor has got to be the worst designed loyalty site in existence.

    I get the Russian site too and it looks like I’m not logged in. This is on my iPhone, will try a normal browser in a bit.

      At the very bottom of the page (below the log in bit) is a drop down list to change the language so you can go back to English if your Russian is a little rusty!

        Found that and it tells me to deactivate my current conversion. Having done that, still looks like 2000 is the minimum. 🙁

          I have done something similar to what sandgrounder describes in the distant past. It worked. There was a thread about it on FT and I just followed the instructions there. Obviously, it may not work anymore…

      Google chrome translate the page, then it all works as raffles says in his post.

    It doesn’t. The thing is you need to set it up for Avios to get the bonus. If you breach the 4k limit they will tip across to BA Avios at 2:1.

    However, it’s not that easy to rack up the Accor points. I spent 2 nights in a Novotel that was comparatively expensive and even with the bonus only got c. 3,800 points.

    The only thing is you’ll have to keep switching the preference back to Avios from Iberia after you’ve done the transfer.

  Remember 2000pts = €40 cash equivalent (voucher or redeemed off booking) ie about £32 or 1.6p/point. In other words you need to make sure you get at least 1.6p/avios value once converted.

    My wife had over 2,000, but I honestly didn’t see any way of using those for a hotel voucher. €40 would only cover a fraction of a room bill (a room I could get for absolutely nothing using Hilton, IHG or Starwood points) and I can’t see any Accor-family properties on the horizon anyway.

    I am happy to take the (overpriced) Avios and empty out the account. All of those 2,800 points came from one stay my wife did which is unlikely to be repeated given it was in Sochi! I haven’t stayed in an Accor property myself for about 5 years (Luxembourg).

      Accor Happy Mondays can be a good way to use these up for nearly last minute bookings. Something like a Mercure or a Novotel can be had for 2,000 points and about a fiver, assuming booking on a Monday or Tuesday for that coming weekend works out for you!
