Win £800,000 of luxury travel with The Telegraph Travel Awards

Last Friday I published an article promoting The Times / The Sunday Times Travel Awards.  They have put together an impressive list of luxury travel prizes worth £150,000 to be won by people who vote so it is well worth entering.

What I didn’t know at the time is that The Telegraph is also running a competition around its own travel awards.

This one is even bigger.  Almost crazy, in fact.

There are 40 prizes on offer to be won by people who vote.  They are worth an astonishing £800,000.

Some of them – in fact most of them – are a bit mad.  You don’t just win a night at the Mandarin Oriental in London, for example.  You win two nights in the 2,400 square foot Royal Suite plus dinner at the Heston Blumenthal and Daniel Boulud restaurants, plus spa treatments!

You don’t just win a night at Sibton Park, a country house hotel in Suffolk.  You win the entire place for a weekend for you and 23 friends!  And so on ….

I definitely recommend Head for Points readers vote.  The website for the awards is here.

You only need to vote in four categories to be eligible for the prize draw, so it won’t take long.  It would be good if one of those categories was ‘Best Travel Website’ and you voted for Head for Points but of course it is up to you!

And someone would really think these prizes are really up for grabs? Me thinks not. Just a way to get people to vote!

    • Amanda says:

Last year I entered the Telegraph Travel Awards survey and I won a prize! I won a week for 2 on Tiger Blue. A luxury yacht that sails around the Komodo Islands, Indonesia. There were 22 different prizes, not dis-similar ones to this year & all I did was enter the survey. So for all you sceptics out there …. It is possible to win! I leave for my trip on Sunday, this weekend.

      • Sam says:

Wow Amanda, Tiger Blue is stunning, you will be blown away. That’s the best competition prize I’ve seen in travel.

      • Susan says:

Hope you have a fantastic trip Amanda.

I’m so happy for all the people who do win. Me? What’s the point? I work in a school and can only travel during school breaks/holidays. Conditions limiting times of travel always spoil these “prizes” for me. I earn so little as it is I can’t risk losing my job or having unpaid time off. Pity.

Which cities have you visited while on holiday in the past two years?
One of the options – Peterborough

    • EM says:

Oh Jason, Non-transferrable with black-out dates is the bane of my competition junky life. T anyway.
PH- Always family in the US or Hungary, or day trips in the UK (Hengistbury Head Is wonderful).
Last time to the USA Virgin Atlantic honoured a pledge for an upgrade which they promised 14 years earlier. Truthfully!
But on the bucketlist: Barcelona, Las Vegas, Paris again…

      • Jason says:

I never win anyway, so have never looked at the small print:-(
However I have entered just to vote HFP up there 😉

  • Martin says:

T&Cs state: “1. Only participants who complete the full questionnaire will be entered into this prize draw to win one of the prizes, as described in the appendix to these terms and conditions below.”

Not sure how this squares with Raffle’s statement that only four categories need to be completed?

    • phreegreens says:

I skipped some of the categories selecting the “none of these” in things like IIRC ferry companies. I did though do more than four and when I got to the end got confirmation that my entry was accepted.

      • Amanda says:

When I entered last year I skipped certain sections, still won! There were 45k entries last year, but if you dont enter you wont win!
There was no choice of prize, it was Tiger Blue or nothing, we have added to the free week and are going to Borneo & Lombok too, under own own steam. Vey exciting. Qatar business flights too.

        • Rob says:

Well done, a great result. They get a lof of entries to this, partly because it runs for 4 months. I think you have a better chance with The Times, but nothing ventured ….

  • David says:

Thanks. Voted and include HfP in my choices.

  • Lady London says:

Duly completed, and the right website nominated :-).

  • Martin says:

Voted for HfP of course, but what an awful survey for using on an Android phone. Every time I tried to scroll the selection list, it also selected the nearest list item. Got fed up with correcting it, and ended up voting for lots of extraneous companies.
