Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Win two Business Class tickets to (just about) anywhere with Head for Points and Qatar Airways

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Today I am launching a fantastic competition in association with Qatar Airways. It is the biggest prize we have ever given away on Head for Points.

One lucky Head for Points reader will win two Business Class tickets to their choice of Qatar Airways destination.

This is an exceptional prize. You would struggle to buy two Business Class tickets to Australia for under £4,000, for example.

Qatar Airways A350 Doha

About Qatar Airways

Launched in 1997, Qatar Airways is one of the fastest growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world. It is the only airline to be flying the Airbus A380, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the new Airbus A350 XWB for which Qatar Airways is the launch customer.

The 2014 Skytrax Global Survey awarded Qatar Airways the title of ‘Best Business Class’. It also won in 2013. Regular readers will know that I flew the Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 Business Class seats last year and was very impressed by the aircraft and the lounges. The 1-2-1 Business Class seating used on the 787, A380 and A350 aircraft (see photo below) is especially spacious. Qatar Airways’s Business Class food won our (very unofficial) Head for Points bake-off between BA, Emirates and Qatar Airways in December.

It currently flies to 146 destinations globally including London Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh. The Manchester service increases to twice-daily from February 16th whilst the Edinburgh service is increasing to daily flights from May 1st. In Doha, Qatar Airways operates from the brand new Hamad International Airport which opened in May 2014.

Qatar Airways joined the oneworld alliance in October 2013. This allows you to earn and redeem British Airways Avios points and tier points on Qatar Airways services.

What can you win?

We are giving away TWO Business Class tickets on Qatar Airways! This is a hugely valuable prize given that the breadth of the Qatar Airways route map.

There are some restrictions on how and where you can go.  See the terms and conditions (click on the link in the entry form) for the full list of rules – these are just the key parts and the official rules take precedence over this summary:

Your trip must start and finish in the UK (London, Manchester or Edinburgh). Connecting flights are not included.

You cannot backtrack. This means that North American destinations are excluded as would a routing like London-Doha-Paris and back! The decision of Qatar Airways on what it considers backtracking will be final.

Flights must be operated by Qatar Airways.  Codeshares are not included.

You can only book your tickets within three months of departure

Tickets are strictly non-transferrable. The winner MUST be one of the passengers and both tickets must be booked for travel together.

You must complete your travel within 12 months of notification of winning. This is likely to give you until mid February 2016 to travel.

There is no guarantee that Qatar Airways will be able to offer the exact date, flight and destination you request. Flexibility may be required, especially at peak periods. You should not treat the availability that Qatar Airways makes available for frequent flyer redemptions as typical of what will be available to the winners.

You are responsible for arranging transfers, accommodation, visas, innoculations, insurance etc for your trip

You will not have to pay any taxes or charges for your tickets

Your tickets will not earn any frequent flyer miles or status points

Because this is an especially generous prize, the competition is going to remain open for four weeks.

How to enter

I am using the same entry system that I have used the last few competitions.

You can have up to three entries in the competition:

You receive one entry automatically when you complete your email address (this remains private and will NOT be used by Head for Points for any other purpose)

You receive an additional entry if you join the Qatar Airways email list. This allows you to keep up to date with sales and promotions from Qatar Airways. You can unsubscribe at any point by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link in every newsletter they send.

You receive an additional entry if you tweet a link to the competition (please use the ‘link your account’ option to ensure it tracks properly)

The rules

You can see the detailed rules by clicking on ‘Terms and Conditions’ in the entry widget. In summary:

You must be 18 years old

The competition closes at midnight, London time, on Sunday 15th February
